Experimental study on jet flow characteristics of fire water monitor
Fire water monitor is an important part of a sprinkler system. In this study, the jet flow characteristics of the external jet of the fire water monitor are studied. The water jet system is used to launch the water jet experiment under six pressures.

Transient pressure modeling in jetting animals
There are many marine animals that employ a form of jet propulsion to move through the water, often creating the jets by expanding and collapsing internal fluid cavities. Due to the unsteady nature of this form of locomotion and complex body/nozzle geometries, standard modeling techniques prove insufficient at capturing internal pressure dynamics, and ...

High-Pressure Methane Jet: Analysis of the Jet-Obstacle Interaction [PDF]
The study of unplanned high-pressure gas releases is of paramount importance in the industrial safety framework because of the possible large consequences, both in case of flammable and toxic substances leakage. In addition, if an obstacle is involved in the release, it is known that the main effect on the jet behavior is the enhancement of the risk ...

Experimental investigation on high-pressure methane jet characteristic single-hole injector
High-pressure gas direct injection (DI) technology benefits engines with high efficiency and clean emissions, and the gas jet process causes crucial effects especially inside an mm-size space.

On possible `cosmic ray cocoons' of relativistic jets [PDF]
We consider effects on an (ultra-) relativistic jet and its ambient medium caused by high energy cosmic rays accelerated at the jet side boundary. As illustrated by simple models, during the acceleration process a flat cosmic ray distribution can be ...

Jet pumps for thermoacoustic applications: design guidelines based on a numerical parameter study [PDF]
The oscillatory flow through tapered cylindrical tube sections (jet pumps) is characterized by a numerical parameter study. The shape of a jet pump results in asymmetric hydrodynamic end effects which cause a time-averaged pressure drop to occur under ...

Structure of Magnetic Tower Jets in Stratified Atmospheres [PDF]
Based on a new approach on modeling the magnetically dominated outflows from AGNs (Li et al. 2006), we study the propagation of magnetic tower jets in gravitationally stratified atmospheres (such as a galaxy cluster environment) in large scales ($>$ tens

Research on Digital Monitoring Technology for Airport High-Pressure Rotary Jet Piles
The high-pressure rotary jet pile construction method has been widely used in airport projects, particularly in regions with soft soil foundations, such as coastal areas. The method’s primary aim is to establish a sound foundation bearing capacity.

Vortical structure in the wake of a transverse jet [PDF]
Structural features resulting from the interaction of a turbulent jet issuing transversely into a uniform stream are described with the help of flow visualization and hot-wire anemometry. Jet-to-crossflow velocity ratios from 2 to 10 were investigated at
