Vector boson plus jet physics at CMS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2013
We present recent results on the jet production rates in association with weak vector bosons and their properties using proton-proton collision data collected with the CMS detector. Azimuthal correlations and events shapes in Z + jets events are also shown.

Vector Boson plus Jets background to the early MET plus jets search [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2010
Searches in the large missing transverse momentum (MET) plus jets final state topology have great potential for discovery of new physics involving dark matter candidates during early LHC running. Standard Model processes that produce the same observable signature constitute the background to such searches.

Surface‐Capped Protein Nanoparticles for Nonviral Gene Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Developing simple, safe, and efficient nonviral delivery systems remains a significant challenge in bioengineering. Nanoparticles offer promising gene delivery capabilities with reduced toxicity; however, long‐standing challenges related to effective plasmid encapsulation and delivery exist.

Resonant Domain Wall Dynamics in a Three‐Dimensional Magnetic Nano Double Helix

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
3D magnetic nanostructures promise exciting possibilities for magnetization dynamics. However, experimental realizations remain scarce. In nanoprinted cobalt double helices, time‐resolved X‐ray microscopy reveals harmonic domain wall dynamics. Simulations identify the mode and additional higher‐frequency resonances, revealing a rich dynamic landscape ...

Aerodynamics of thrust vectoring by Navier-Stokes solutions [PDF]

open access: yes
Induced aerodynamics from thrust vectoring are investigated by a computational fluid dynamic method. A thin-layer Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes code with multiblock capability is used.

Vector bosons and jets at the LHC [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of The Eighth Annual Conference on Large Hadron Collider Physics — PoS(LHCP2020), 2020
In these proceedings I review recent theoretical predictions describing processes involving vector bosons and jets at the LHC. Such processes possess very distinctive phenomenologies and their theoretical accuracy is very different. I focus here on three illustrative cases: the production of a Z boson in association with a b jet, W-pair production in ...

Ultrafast Photocatalytic Wettability Switching in Substrate‐Interface Tailored Titanium Dioxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates ultrafast photocatalytic wettability switching in TiO2 thin films by tailoring substrate doping and interface oxides. Enhanced switching rates and hemiwicking effects are achieved through optimized material stacks and nanostructuring.

Flow field control characteristics of dual synthetic jet thrust vectoring

open access: yesKongqi donglixue xuebao
To investigate the flow control characteristics of a dual synthetic jet in thrust vectoring, the peak velocity and excitation frequency of the dual synthetic jet were adjusted to reveal its control mechanisms over the nozzle mainstream deflection.

Design of supersonic Coanda jet nozzles [PDF]

open access: yes
The thrust vectoring of supersonic Coanda jets was improved by designing a nozzle to skew the initial jet velocity profile. A new nozzle design procedure, based on the method of characteristics, was developed to design a nozzle which produces a specified

Flow‐Adaptive Gas Sensing Enabled Using a Uniform Au Nanosheet Sensor Array and a Neural Network Inference

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Integrated Au nanosheet sensor array enables simultaneous inference of gas concentration and flow rate via deep neural network analysis, without external flow control. ABSTRACT Gas sensor responses are considerably affected by gas flow rates, thereby inhibiting the accurate detection of target gas concentrations in variable‐flow applications such as ...
