Jewish Theater

Abstract Jewish theater is a global, ancient, multilingual, and multicultural phenomenon. Scattered examples of Jewish drama and theater can be found in ancient times, but starting in the medieval period, the creation of Jewish plays and productions expanded, as did the involvement of notable Jews in theater more broadly.
