Dolomite Formation Driven by the Synergy of Hydrothermal Activity, Biology, and Climate: A Case Study from the Lucaogou Formation in the Jimsar Sag

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Typical saline lacustrine mixed sedimentary strata are developed in the Middle Permian Lucaogou Formation (P2l) in the Jimsar Sag, with frequent interbedding of mudstone, dolomitic mudstone, and argillaceous dolomite.

Geochemical characterization of Lucaogou Formation and its correlation of tight oil accumulation in Jimsar Sag of Junggar Basin, Northwestern China. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Pet Explor Prod Technol, 2017
With the constant consumption of conventional oil and gas resources, unconventional oil and gas resources with great resource potential such as tight oil have gradually been valued and become the new exploration area. Jimsar Sag is the key tight oil exploration and development block in Junggar Basin of Northwestern China.

Effects of parent well spacing on the poroelastic behaviors in the infill zone in shale oil reservoirs: A case study in Jimsar Shale Oil, China

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 10, Issue 4, Page 1043-1054, April 2022., 2022
The effect of parent well spacing on the poroelastic changes in the infill zone is not monotonic. Tight spacings lead to decreased breakdown pressure and decreased production potential. Loose spacings result in slightly increased breakdown pressure, while the production potential is preserved.

Occurrence, Genesis, and Significance of Analcime in Fine‐Grained Sedimentary Rocks

open access: yesGeofluids, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Natural analcime, an aluminosilicate mineral with multiple genetic mechanisms, widely occurs in fine‐grained sedimentary reservoirs rich in oil and gas. Researchers have discussed the source and formation mechanism of reservoirs and the influence of morphology formation, occurrence characteristics associated with minerals, geochemical data, and Si/Al ...

Study on Pressure Characteristics of Disturbed Wells due to Interwell Fracturing Interference and Its Application in Small Well Spacing Fracturing

open access: yesGeofluids, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
In order to maximize the production of unconventional oil and gas reservoirs, the well spacing has been shrinking continuously. Thus, the interwell fracturing interference usually occurs, which brings some problems affecting the fracturing efficiency.

Fracturing and production analysis of the efficacy of hydraulic fracture stage reduction in the improvement of cost‐effectiveness in shale oil development: A case study of Jimsar shale oil, China

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 9, Issue 9, Page 1337-1348, September 2021., 2021
The use of hydraulic fracture stage reduction can mitigate fracturing interferences and lead to more uniform hydraulic fracture growths. Consequently, more uniform productions from individual fractures can be obtained, indicating more uniformed depleted SRVs.

Study on calculation of transversely isotropic dynamic rock mechanical parameters and conversion model between dynamic parameters and static parameters

open access: yesUnconventional Resources, 2023
The shale oil reservoirs in the Jimsar Sag are strongly heterogeneous. Therefore, it is of practical significance to relate the dynamic elastic stiffness to the static elastic stiffness under the assumption of transverse isotropy.

Study on the Flow Mechanism of Shale Oil with Different Injection Media

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
Chinese shale oil has high recoverable resources and great development potential. However, due to the limitation of development technology, the recovery rate of shale oil is not high. In this paper, the effects of different injection media on the development of shale oil reservoirs in Dongying formation, Qikou depression, Huanghua depression, and Bohai
