Distinct Resting‐State Connectomes for Face and Scene Perception Predict Individual Task Performance

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 5, 1 April 2026.
Resting‐state fMRI and MEG functional connectivity reveal that the FFA and PPA anchor distinct spatio‐temporal networks. The strength of this intrinsic architecture shows a double dissociation: FFA‐network connectivity specifically predicts face‐task performance, while PPA‐network connectivity predicts scene‐task performance, linking intrinsic ...

Differentiating Creatine and Phosphocreatine In Vivo Using 3 T 1H MR Spectroscopy

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 95, Issue 4, Page 1896-1906, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Validation and improvements to the proton MR spectroscopic measurement of creatine and phosphocreatine in vivo at 3 T. Methods Spectral simulations were used to evaluate and explore the mitigation of LCModel fitting bias due to lineshape, signal‐to‐noise (SNR) and non‐metabolite backgrounds with a focus on phosphocreatine and the ...

Free‐Breathing, 3D Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Elastography for Myocardial Stiffness Mapping

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 95, Issue 4, Page 2356-2369, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) of the heart has predominantly utilized breath‐held acquisitions with limited anatomic coverage. This work investigates the feasibility of 3D, free‐breathing cardiac MRE. Methods A 3D hybrid radial and EPI acquisition is utilized and combined with retrospective binning of k‐space via physiologic ...

Converting Binary Floating‐Point Numbers to Shortest Decimal Strings: An Experimental Review

open access: yesSoftware: Practice and Experience, Volume 56, Issue 4, Page 462-478, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Background When sharing or logging numerical data, we must convert binary floating‐point numbers into their decimal string representations. For example, the number π might become 3.1415927. Engineers have perfected many algorithms for producing such accurate, short strings.

Tunable Coupler–Augmented Microrings: Reconfigurable Q‐Factor Control for Foundry‐Scale Quantum Light Sources

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 6, 27 March 2026.
Scalable quantum photonics require robust realization of quantum light sources for foundry‐scale fabrication. An interferometrically coupled silicon nitride microring resonator enables post‐fabrication control of bus–ring coupling. Thermal phase shifters adjust the Q‐factor and the pair generation rate, revealing that optimal generation does not occur ...

Semantic Temporal Single‐Photon LiDAR

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
This study introduces a semantic Temporal single‐photon (TSP‐) LiDAR system that uses a self‐updating knowledge base for target recognition. The system adapts to unknown targets and performs effectively even under low signal‐to‐noise ratios and short acquisition times.
