Can Elastomers Combine Stiffness, Toughness and Fatigue Resistance?

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review studies how the molecular and macroscopic architecture of elastomers influence their mechanical properties including: stiffness, stretchability, toughness, fatigue resistance, and damping behavior. By linking the structure to performance, it proposes design principles for advanced elastomeric systems that combine mechanical properties ...

The Dynamics of Job Creation and Job Destruction: Is Sub-Saharan Africa Different? [PDF]

open access: yes
Agricultural production is an important source of income and employment for developing countries, yet it is the cause of serious environmental problems. Though ECO-labels appear as a promising alternative to control the negative effects of agriculture on

Do Small Businesses Create More Jobs? New Evidence for the United States from the National Establishment Time Series [PDF]

open access: yes
We use a new database, the National Establishment Time Series (NETS), to revisit the debate about the role of small businesses in job creation. Birch (e.g., 1987) argued that small firms are the most important source of job creation in the U.S.

Thickness‐Defined Transport Regime Toward Near‐Ideal Area‐Type Switching

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
By thinning the oxide layer, memristors pass from diode‐like and battery‐effect‐dominated behavior toward eventual short‐circuit failure. Within the intermediate 5–6 nm window, they reach a near‐ideal analog area‐type switching regime, featuring symmetric hysteresis, area‐dependent conductance, and continuous linear programming of HRS and LRS with ...

Job Creation and Investment in Imperfect Capital and Labor Markets [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper shows that liquidity constraints restrict job creation even with flexible labor markets. In a dynamic model of firm investment and demand for labor with imperfect capital markets, represented as a constraint on dividends, and imperfect labor ...

DISPUTES IN THE APPLICATION OF EMPLOYMENT COPYRIGHT LAW RELATING TO THE PRINCIPLE OF STRICT LIABILITY IN ENVIRONMENTAL CLUSTERS

open access: yesIBLAM Law Review
Numerous conflicts have arisen since the Omnibus Law-based Job Creation Law was passed, particularly in the environmental cluster. In this instance, it is evident in the environmental cluster of Article 22 Number 33 of the Job Creation Law, where the ...

Defect‐Driven Charge Separation in Ba‐Doped SrTiO3: Correlating Photoelectrochemical Performance With Dye‐Selective Photocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Ba‐doped SrTiO3 perovskites establish a direct correlation between photoelectrochemical activity and photocatalytic performance. Optimized Ba0.5Sr0.5TiO3 exhibits enhanced charge separation, photocurrent generation, and visible‐light‐driven dye degradation through defect‐induced oxygen vacancies and lattice distortion.

2D Hierarchical Black Phosphorus‐Mn2O3 Heterostructured Composites for High‐Performance Flexible Supercapacitors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A sonochemical strategy constructs an ex situ 2D hierarchical black phosphorus–Mn2O3 heterostructure, enabling intimate interfacial coupling, enhanced charge transport, and improved electrochemical stability. The optimized BPM‐37.5% electrode delivers 466 F g−1 with 84% retention after 8000 cycles, while the flexible device exhibits high areal energy ...
