Semaglutide vs. liraglutide and incidence of diabetes and cardiovascular disease: A target trial emulation using real‐world data

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Aims The glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonists (GLP‐1 RAs) semaglutide and liraglutide are approved for chronic weight management. Both drugs also have favourable effects on the risk of developing diabetes and cardiovascular disease (CVD) compared with placebo, but their comparative effectiveness for these outcomes is unclear.

Pharmacometric evaluation of pre‐referral rectal artesunate in children with severe malaria

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Aims Parenteral artesunate is the preferred first‐line treatment for severe malaria. Pre‐referral rectal artesunate suppositories are recommended where parenteral treatment is inaccessible. In this study, we compared dihydroartemisinin exposure and model‐predicted early parasite clearance following rectal artesunate and intravenous artesunate in ...

Multimodal Fluorescent MOF@BODIPY Platform: Bridging Sensing and Mechanistic Insight

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hybrid metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) that integrate organic chromophores constitute powerful platforms for optical sensing by combining structural order with tunable photophysics. Incorporating photoresponsive chromophores into MOFs enables sensitive probing of guest–framework interactions through well‐defined luminescent signatures. Herein,

From Custom to Court: The Evolution of Mediation in European Legal Systems

open access: yesConflict Resolution Quarterly, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article traces how European mediation has repeatedly rebalanced three variables—(1) the source of mediator authority, (2) the degree of institutionalization, and (3) the operative meaning of voluntariness—from antiquity to the present. Automated segmentation of postsurgical resection cavities on magnetic resonance imaging in focal epilepsy: A Multicentre Epilepsy Lesion Detection study

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Quantitative assessment of extent of tissue resection following epilepsy surgery requires accurate delineation of the resection cavity on postoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Current methods for resection cavity masking are time‐consuming and labor‐intensive, and existing automated approaches exhibit variable segmentation ...

Real world testing and cost‐effectiveness analysis of subcutaneous EEG (REAL‐ASE): Protocol for a prospective multicentre interventional trial

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Epilepsy is a common condition associated with significant morbidity, mortality, and costs. Poor documentation of seizures is a major challenge in epilepsy care. Objective seizure counting with mobile devices may mitigate this challenge and improve patient management.

Healthcare Costs Following Medical Gender‐Affirmation: Evidence From Whole‐of‐Population Australian Administrative Data

open access: yesHealth Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Gender incongruence in trans and nonbinary (“trans”) populations is often associated with psychological distress and increased demand for mental healthcare. Gender‐affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) is a key component of care for many trans people, yet long‐term evidence around its cost implications remains limited despite increasing uptake and ...
