Capturing birds for external transmitter attachment allows researchers to collect abundant movement and behavioural data across spatial and temporal gradients but can expose birds to additional stress due to prolonged handling, sometimes leading to mortality.

Lymphocystis Disease in Endemic Aotearoa New Zealand Bully (Gobiomorphus cotidianus)

ABSTRACT We detected lymphocystis disease virus (LCDV) for the first time in an Aotearoa New Zealand freshwater environment, from an individual common bully, toitoi, Gobiomorphus cotidianus (Eleotridae). Dinah's bully, Gobiomorphus dinae, and Kaharore bully, Gobiomorphus mataraerore, also exhibited gross nodular lesions on the fins but were not sampled.

Digital range of motion analysis is sensitive to subjective steps in joint model construction

A systematic sensitivity analysis of a six degree‐of‐freedom range of motion (ROM) analysis workflow was conducted to evaluate how variation in the subjective steps of the reference pose assembly affects the determined viable poses in the ankle and tarsometatarsophalangeal III joints of Guinea fowl (Numida meleagris).
