join queries

open access: yes, 2013
The existing heuristics for top-k join queries, aiming to minimize the scan-depth, rely heavily on scores and correlation of scores. It is known that for uniformly random scores between two relations of length n, scan-depth of √kn is required.

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Join Coherent Previsions

open access: yes, 2008
We prove that the theory of coherent previsions by Bruno de Finetti can be framed in the theory of join systems, where a join system is a set with a hyperoperation satisfying a given set of “geometric” properties.

Common Influence Join: A Natural Join Operation for Spatial Pointsets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We identify and formalize a novel join operator for two spatial pointsets P and Q. The common influence join (CIJ) returns the pairs of points (p, q),p ∈ P, q ∈ Q, such that there exists a location in space, being closer to p than to any other point in P

MagmaFlow: A desktop platform for artificial intelligence‐driven expression analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
MagmaFlow is a free, no‐code platform for gene expression analysis. It generates interactive volcano plots, links genes to literature, pathways, and diseases, prioritizes candidates using millions of publications, identifies affected biological processes, builds network diagrams, and exports publication‐ready figures and reports for macOS and Windows ...

Efficient Join-Index-Based Join Processing: A Clustering Approach

open access: yes, 1999
A Join Index is a data structure used for processing join queries in databases. Join indices usepre-computation techniques to speed up online query processing and are useful for data-sets which are updated infrequently. The cost of join computation using

Diffusion Spectrum Imaging Maps Early Axonal Loss and a Unique Progressive Signal in Neuronal Intranuclear Inclusion Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To delineate specific in vivo white matter pathology in neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) using diffusion spectrum imaging (DSI) and define its clinical relevance. Methods DSI was performed on 42 NIID patients and 38 matched controls.

Spatial Join Queries Based on QR-Tree

open access: yes, 2011
Spatial join query is a most important query in the spatial database. How to improve the efficiency of a spatial join is a serious question. In this paper,we propose a new algorithm to process spatial join problem. The algorithm is based on the QR-tree ...
