Mesoscale Domain Evolution Mechanism during Alternating Current (AC) Poling of Relaxor Ferroelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric domain variants that are energetically equivalent are expected to remain preserved during polarization reversal. However, phase‐field simulations reveal that inclined domain walls in relaxor ferroelectrics can undergo irreversible elimination during alternating current poling through a proximity effect driven by long‐range elastic ...

Aggregation Scheme with Secure Hierarchical Clustering for Wireless Sensor Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2012
In a large-scale wireless sensor network, a topology is needed to gather state-based data from sensor network and efficiently aggregate the data given the requirements of balanced load, minimal energy consumption, and prolonged network lifetime.

Standardized Effect Measures Informing Next‐Generation Strategies for Mechanical Stimulation in Cartilage Tissue Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This systematic review quantitatively compares conventional mechanical stimulation strategies in cartilage tissue engineering across 85 heterogeneous in vitro studies. Applying standardized effect measures, meta‐analysis reveals that combined compression and shear loading optimally promotes cartilage matrix development.

Localized Fault Tolerant and Connectivity Restoration Algorithms in Mobile Wireless Ad Hoc Network

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Due to the dynamic characteristics of mobile wireless ad hoc networks, a node may join or leave/fail at anytime, and links are usually intermittently unavailable. The destruction of the network connectivity would dramatically degrade the performance.

A map with topological minimal self-joinings in the sense of del Junco [PDF]

open access: yesErgodic Theory and Dynamical Systems, 1990
AbstractAndrés del Junco has proposed a definition of topological minimal self-joinings intended to parallel Dan Rudolph's measure-theoretic concept. By means of a rank-two ‘cutting and stacking’, this article constructs the first example of a system (a subshift) satisfying his proposed definition of 2-fold topological minimal self-joinings.The second ...

Ranch: a dynamic network topology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
textPeer-to-peer computing is an emerging paradigm that has the potential of harnessing enormous amounts of under-utilized computational resources (e.g., home computers). A central problem in peer-to-peer computing is how to organize the network nodes

Online Learning of Expanding Graphs

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Signal Processing
This paper addresses the problem of online network topology inference for expanding graphs from a stream of spatiotemporal signals. Online algorithms for dynamic graph learning are crucial in delay-sensitive applications or when changes in topology occur
