Hierarchical multi‐material TPMS lattices are engineered as flexible tactile sensors by combining soft and stiff elastomeric layers with a conformal conductive coating. The bilayer architecture delivers sensitivity at low pressures while maintaining a broad detectable range under large loads, enabling reliable pressure and vibration monitoring for ...

Measuring group fairness in community detection.
Understanding community structures is crucial for analyzing networks, as nodes join communities that collectively shape large-scale networks. In real-world settings, the formation of communities is often impacted by several social factors, such as ...

Multimodal Haptic Perception Through Synergistic Nanocomposite Sensor Arrays
Multi‐modal fingertip haptics are advanced through a bioinspired &vertical‐via' electronic skin architecture. A confined PDMS/MWCNT/NiNP nanocomposite, sitting at the percolation threshold, enables tactile, thermal, and magnetic sensing. A unique via‐density gradient and dedicated &Un‐Touch' reference nodes provide robust spatial resolution and signal ...

Reasoning about physical processes in buildings through component stereotypes
Buildings employ an ensemble of technical systems like those for heating and ventilation. Ontologies such as Brick, IFC, SSN/SOSA, and SAREF have been created to describe such technical systems in a machine-understandable manner.

Collision‐Resilient Winged Drones Enabled by Tensegrity Structures
Based on structures of birds such as the woodpeck, this article presents the collision‐resilient aerial robot, SWIFT. SWIFT leverages tensegrity structures in the fuselage and wings which allow it to undergo large deformations in a crash, without sustaining damage. Experiments show that SWIFT can reduce impact forces by 70% over conventional structures.

Polyhedral products associated with polyhedral join products
Polyhedral products are a fundamental object in topology, unifying constructions across toric topology, combinatorics and commutative algebra. Determining their homotopy type is a major goal of study of these objects.

Durability of Soft Pneumatic Actuators: A Review and Benchmarking Protocol
Lack of durability is a key challenge hindering the broad scale adoption of soft pneumatic actuators (SPAs) in automation industries. This review provides a comprehensive overview of existing research on SPA durability, introduces a standardized durability benchmarking protocol to consolidate the testing of SPAs, and outlines promising directions for ...
