Multiple-tree topology construction scheme for P2P live streaming systems under flash crowds

open access: yesIEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference, 2013
P2P live streaming systems have been widely adopted nowadays. In such systems, flash crowds still remains a big challenge, which often occur when an enormous number of users suddenly arrive to view a newly released program.

Multi-Joint Topology Optimization: A Method for Considering Joining in Multi-Material Design

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2021
<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Automakers are under constant pressure to improve fuel economy and vehicle range to achieve a competitive advantage within the industry and meet government regulations. Reducing the overall weight of a vehicle contributes significantly to achieving this goal.

Topological incongruence between Median-Joining Networks and Bayesian inference phylogenies

2022
1 Abstract Inferring phylogenies among intraspecific individuals often yields unresolved relationships (i.e., polytomies). Consequently, methods that compute distance-based abstract networks, like Median-Joining Networks (MJNs), are thought to be more appropriate tools for reconstructing such relationships than ...

Join-meet preserving maps and Alexandrov fuzzy topologies

Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems, 2015
In this paper, we investigate the properties of join-meet preserving maps in complete residuated lattices. We define join-meet approximation operators as a generalization of fuzzy rough sets in complete residuated lattices. Moreover, we investigate the relations between join-meet preserving maps and Alexandrov fuzzy topologies. We give their examples.

Efficient Active SLAM Based on Submap Joining, Graph Topology and Convex Optimization

2018 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA), 2018
The active SLAM problem considered in this paper aims to plan a robot trajectory for simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) as well as for an area coverage task with robot pose uncertainty. Based on a model predictive control (MPC) framework, these two problems are solved respectively by different methods.

Stratified Spaces: Joining Analysis, Topology and Geometry

2011
For manifolds, topological properties such as Poincaré duality and invariants such as the signature and characteristic classes, results and techniques from complex algebraic geometry such as the Hirzebruch-Riemann-Roch theorem, and results from global analysis such as the Atiyah-Singer index theorem, worked hand in hand in the past to weave a tight web

On the topology of the joined point-pairs of an algebraic variety
