Efficient Processing of Spatio-Temporal Joins on IoT Data
As the Internet of Things (IoT) has become widespread, the demand for storing and querying data generated by things (e.g., moving sensors) is growing to obtain more useful information.

Double Distance-Calculation-Pruning for Similarity Search
Many modern applications deal with complex data, where retrieval by similarity plays an important role. Complex data main comparison mechanisms are based on similarity predicates.

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

M2-Edge Colorings Of Cacti And Graph Joins
An edge coloring φ of a graph G is called an M2-edge coloring if |φ(v)| ≤ 2 for every vertex v of G, where φ(v) is the set of colors of edges incident with v. Let 𝒦2(G) denote the maximum number of colors used in an M2-edge coloring of G.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Efficient and Scalable Graph Similarity Joins in MapReduce
Along with the emergence of massive graph-modeled data, it is of great importance to investigate graph similarity joins due to their wide applications for multiple purposes, including data cleaning, and near duplicate detection.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Approximation of surfaces for the execution of timbrel vaults
The difficulty presented in the execution of "domical vault" or " quatre punts" timbrel vaults with diagonal brickwork is that of the marking out with cladding tiles in the layering of the first rows, when setting the pace of the construction and joins ...
