Mutant NPM1 in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Initiation and Maintenance

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
NPM1 mutations drive acute myeloid leukemia by acting as neomorphic transcriptional regulators that cooperate with Menin–MLL and XPO1 to sustain HOX/MEIS1 expression and block differentiation. Targeting these mutant‐specific transcriptional dependencies provides a rational therapeutic strategy for NPM1‐mutated AML.

Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.

Biomechanical effect of tibial slope on the stability of medial unicompartmental knee arthroplasty in posterior cruciate ligament-deficient knees [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Aims: Unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) has become a popular method of treating knee localized osteoarthritis (OA). Additionally, the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) is essential to maintaining the physiological kinematics and functions of the ...

Assessment of Daily Living Activities for Older Adults Post Hip Joint Replacement [PDF]

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Health Care
Background: Hip joint replacement is the replacement of a critically injured hip with an artificial joint. It is an orthopedic procedure which aims to improve the management of diseases of the hip joint that have not responded well to conventional ...

Active Elbow Joint Model [PDF]

open access: yesLinköping Electronic Conference Proceedings, 2016
Voluntary and reflexive muscle activation of human elbow joint is investigated by both subject tests and numerical simulations. A jerk loading is applied to extend the elbow joint with different muscle tensing and pre-recognition conditions. Interand Intra-subject variations of hand displacement are analyzed for an objective assessment of the active ...

Baseline Regional Cholinergic Denervation Predicts Cognitive Trajectories in Moderate Parkinson Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cognitive decline is a disabling and variable feature of Parkinson disease (PD). While cholinergic system degeneration is linked to cognitive impairments in PD, most prior research reported cross‐sectional associations. We aimed to fill this gap by investigating whether baseline regional cerebral vesicular acetylcholine transporter ...

MODEL FOR ORGANIZING JOINT MARKETING ACTIVITIES BY AGRICULTURAL PRODUCERS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bio-Based Marketing
Farmers have little market power and improving their market positions can be achieved by organizing and implementing joint marketing activities. Joint marketing activities contribute to addressing the market challenges faced by Bulgarian farmers.

Compensatory mechanisms to maintain glenohumeral joint stability in rotator cuff tears of differing severity during activities of daily living: A musculoskeletal model simulation study.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
Rotator cuff tears decrease glenohumeral joint stability; however, surrounding uninjured muscles could compensate for the reduced function of injured muscles to maintain joint stability.

Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy due to Biallelic Pathogenic Variants in PIGM

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective PIGM encodes a critical enzyme in the glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)‐anchor biosynthesis pathway. While promoter‐region mutations in PIGM have been associated with a relatively mild phenotype characterized by portal vein thrombosis and absence seizures, recent evidence suggests that coding‐region mutations result in a more severe
