Feasibility of Knee PROMs in Older Chinese Population: A Cross‐Sectional Comparative Study of WOMAC, KOOS, and OKS

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Patient‐reported outcome measures (PROMs) are widely used to evaluate knee function and symptoms. WOMAC, KOOS, and OKS are commonly used knee‐specific PROMs, and their validity and reliability are well established. However, there is limited research focusing on their feasibility among older Chinese population.

Optimized Protocol for the Isolation of UHMWPE Wear Debris by Lyophilization and Chemometric Identification (EDS/PCA)

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Materials Research Part B: Applied Biomaterials, Volume 114, Issue 5, May 2026.
An optimized protocol combining serum lyophilization, solid‐state alkaline digestion, and PCA‐assisted EDS analysis was validated for the analysis of UHMWPE wear debris. The method increased recovery yield by 20‐fold compared to liquid digestion and preserved particle morphology.

The Effects of Radioimmunotherapy and Antibiotics on Biofilm‐Associated Implant Infections in a Preclinical Rat Model

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Research, Volume 44, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Indwelling medical implants are susceptible to developing biofilm‐associated infections that are notoriously difficult to eradicate. These persistent infections often cannot be resolved with antibiotics alone and typically require surgical intervention for effective management.

Acetabular Bone Preservation in H1 Ceramic Hip Resurfacing: A Comparison With A Conventional Metal‐on‐Metal Hip Resurfacing

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Research, Volume 44, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This study compared the volume of acetabular bone resection between an anatomically designed cementless ceramic‐on‐ceramic hip resurfacing arthroplasty (H1HR) and metal‐on‐metal hip resurfacing (Birmingham Hip Resurfacing; BHR). We hypothesized that the anatomical design of the H1 cup would reduce the need for medialization to avoid rim ...
