Simultaneous Volar and Dorsal Dislocation of Proximal Inter Phalangeal Joints in Adjacent Fingers - A Case Report

open access: yesIndian Journal of Plastic Surgery, 1994
Volar dislocation of PIP joint or MCP joint is a rare injury. They are seldom seen acutely and hence literature is sparse on the ideal method of management of these injuries. We had a patient who presented with a rare combination of volar dislocations of

Investigation of Oxide Dispersion Strengthening Effect on the Strength of Diffusion‐Bonded AISI304 Parts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Experiments for reinforcing the diffusion bonding plane by the oxide dispersion strengthening effect are presented. Small ceramic particles (0.5 and 50 μm, respectively) are incorporated. Furthermore, ceramic particles help to penetrate stable passivation layers, enabling atomic diffusion across bonding planes. Since a ceramic–metallic interface cannot

Impact of Various Rotary Friction Welding Process Parameters on the Mechanical Properties of a Steel–Aluminum Joint

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Rotary friction welding of steel E355 and the aluminum alloy EN AW‐6082 can lead to the formation of brittle intermetallic phases. The primary process parameters are varied in order to determine their influence on this intermetallic phase formation and the resulting mechanical properties.

Bilateral Asymmetrical Hip Dislocation in a 70-year-old Female: A Rare Case Report

open access: yesJournal of Orthopedics, Traumatology and Rehabilitation
Traumatic dislocation of the hip joint is a rare injury representing 2%–5% of all dislocations while bilateral hip dislocation accounts for 1.25% of all hip dislocations.

Recurrent TMJ dislocations in children: A case report and protocol for management

open access: yesAdvances in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 2022
This report outlines the novel management of a 10 year old patient who presented with recurring temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dislocations. Given the age of the child, initial management was conservative and used guidance outlined in current paediatric ...

Temporomandibular joint dislocation in Nairobi

open access: yesEast African Medical Journal, 2010
Despite the diverse conservative and surgical modalities for the management of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dislocation and the controversy that surrounds them, very little has been done within the East-African setup in terms of highlighting and provoking greater interest in the epidemiology and management of TMJ dislocation. To audit the pattern of ...

Multimodal Characterization of Sn‐Bi Solder Alloy Solidification Using Synchrotron X‐Ray Microtomography and Energy Dispersive Diffraction

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Real‐time imaging and energy‐dispersive diffraction during solidification of Sn‐Bi alloy interconnect for electronic packaging applications are studied. Sn‐Bi solder alloys have generated significant interest in recent times due to their potential use in electronic packaging.

Improved Strength and Corrosion Resistance of Ti–50Zr Alloy Through Heat Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work systematically analyzes the effects of heat treatment on mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of Ti‐50Zr alloy produced via vacuum arc melting. Microstructure transforms from coarse lamellar α phase in as‐cast condition to fine and uniformly distributes acicular α′ phase in heat‐treatment state.

Subcoracoid dislocation of the acromioclavicular joint

open access: yesActa Orthopaedica et Traumatologica Turcica, 2011
Subcoracoid acromioclavicular dislocations are rarely seen injuries of the shoulder. We present a patient with multiple injuries and a subcoracoid acromioclavicular dislocation resulting from a falling injury. Physical examination revealed painful mechanical block at 90 degrees of abduction and swelling in the acromioclavicular region.
