Pressure distribution at the ankle joint
Journal of Biomechanics, 1990Biomechanical factors such as trauma or overweight are discussed in relation to the aetiology of osteochondral lesions. As a consequence of the possible influence of these factors on joint loading patterns the pressure distribution on the load-bearing ankle joint has been investigated in a cadaveric biostatic model.

Pressure distribution in the wrist joint
Journal of Orthopaedic Research, 1988AbstractWe performed a study to determine pressure distribution properties of the normal radio‐carpal joint. A system was developed for measurement of the contact pressure within the wrist joint surfaces. The transducer was based on Fuji pressure‐sensitive paper, which was inserted into the joint space through a dorsal capsular incision.

Abstract This chapter focuses on the situation where there are two variables of interest. Generally the probability that one variable takes a specific value or a specific range of values will vary according to the value taken by the other variable.

Joint distributions, the uncertainty principle and positive distributions
Mathematical Structures in Computer Science, 2014We examine the construction of joint probabilities for non-commuting observables. We show that there are indications in standard quantum mechanics that imply the existence of conditional expectation values, which in turn implies the existence of a joint distribution.

Joint Probability Distributions
2011In Chapters 3 and 4, we studied probability models for a single random variable. Many problems in probability and statistics lead to models involving several random variables simultaneously. In this chapter, we first discuss probability models for the joint behavior of several random variables, putting special emphasis on the case in which the ...

Joint Distributions: Continuous
1989In Lesson 4, Part II, we saw traditional examples of continuous CDFs for one real valued random variable restricted to those cases for which the CDF was the Riemann integral of its PDF. Extending this fundamental theorem of integral calculus to Lebesgue integration involves a long array of details which we leave to such texts.

On the Joint Distribution of Observables
Foundations of Physics, 2000A general algebraic system M is considered with two binary operations. The family of all measurable functions with values in the unit interval is a motivating example. A state is a morphism from M to the unit interval, an observable is a morphism from the family of Borel sets to M. A joint distribution of two observables is constructed.

Applications of Joint Distributions
2003This Chapter presents two applications of joint fuzzy probability distributions discussed in Chapter 10. In the next section we have an application of a joint fuzzy discrete probability distribution followed by a discussion of fuzzy reliability theory which is an application of joint fuzzy continuous probability distribution.
