Objective The objective was to identify factors determining acute arthritis resolution and safety with colchicine and prednisone in acute calcium pyrophosphate (CPP) crystal arthritis. Methods We conducted a post hoc analysis of the COLCHICORT trial, which compared colchicine and prednisone for the treatment of acute CPP crystal arthritis, using a ...

Bivariate Flood Frequency Analysis Using the Copula Functions [PDF]
In the conventional methods of flood frequency analysis, the flood peak variable is just considered and assumed that this variable follows some specific parametric distribution function.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of baricitinib in pediatric patients with active juvenile idiopathic arthritis–associated uveitis (JIA‐U) or chronic anterior antinuclear antibody–positive uveitis, who had an inadequate response to methotrexate (MTX) or biologic disease‐modifying antirheumatic drugs (bDMARDs).

Problem of Existence of Joint Distribution on Quantum Logic
This paper deals with the topics of modeling joint distributions on a generalized probability space. An algebraic structure known as quantum logic is taken as the basic model.

Joint Probability Distributions in the Meixner Classes
Summary The classes of statistical distributions, for which exp [xu(t)]/E(exp [xu(t)]) generates a system of orthogonal polynomials, have been characterized by Meixner (1934). His proof is now simplified. The theory is applied to obtain joint distributions in the normal, binomial, gamma and Poisson Meixner classes.

Objective Foot orthoses are thought to improve pain by potentially modifying internal mechanical forces. To test this, we explored whether foot orthoses can modify patterns of bone marrow lesions (BMLs) in people with midfoot pain. Methods Forty‐two people were recruited with midfoot pain, and magnetic resonance imaging–confirmed midfoot BMLs ...

Objective Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) is a severe extra‐articular manifestation of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). This study aimed to externally validate a genetic risk score (GRS) and a combined risk score (CRS) for predicting the risk of RA‐associated PF in an independent cohort of patients with early RA.

Observation of non-classical correlations in sequential measurements of photon polarization
A sequential measurement of two non-commuting quantum observables results in a joint probability distribution for all output combinations that can be explained in terms of an initial joint quasi-probability of the non-commuting observables, modified by ...

New Onset of Fibromyalgia After Exposure to a Combat Environment: A Longitudinal Cohort Study
Objective Traumatic life events are hypothesized to be triggers for the onset of fibromyalgia. Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a common comorbidity of fibromyalgia. However, limited prospective data are available on the development of fibromyalgia after exposure to high magnitude stress.
