Cone prosthesis for the hip joint
Archives of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery, 2000The shape of the proximal segment of the femur must be taken into account when implanting femoral endoprostheses, especially those intended for cementless anchorage. Numerous femoral prostheses are available for the proximally broadly extending, "trumpet-shaped" morphology.

The Nicolle Finger Joint Prosthesis: A Reappraisal [PDF]
The Nicolle prosthesis was used to replace 101 metacarpophalangeal joints in patients with rheumatoid arthritis over a ten-year period. Mean active flexion achieved was 30°. Mean ulnar deviation was 27°.4% of joints had to be removed after a mean interval of 42 months, for infection. None of the implants had fractured.

Fitting a temporomandibular joint prosthesis to the skull1
Journal of Oral Rehabilitation, 2000Fitting a temporomandibular joint (TMJ) prosthesis to the skull by using stock prostheses seems to be an appropriate method. However, fitting the skull with one stock part requires many differently shaped parts. Therefore, we fitted the skull with two connected stock parts.

We compared 84 patients with the Ivory trapeziometacarpal prosthesis versus 62 with ligament reconstruction and tendon interposition arthroplasty performed for osteoarthritis. There were 134 women and 12 men with a mean age of 60 years.

Parametric Modelling of a Knee Joint Prosthesis
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part H: Journal of Engineering in Medicine, 1993This paper presents an approach for the establishment of a parametric model of knee joint prosthesis. Four different sizes of a commercial prosthesis are used as an example in the study. A reverse engineering technique was employed to reconstruct the prosthesis on CATIA, a CAD (computer aided design) system.

[Progress of temporomandibular joint prosthesis].
Hua xi kou qiang yi xue za zhi = Huaxi kouqiang yixue zazhi = West China journal of stomatology, 2014The anatomically and functionally complex nature of the temporomandibularjoint (TMJ) makes its reconstruction one of the most challenging tasks faced by surgeons who operate in the head and neck. TMJ prosthesis is one of the important techniques in the reconstruction of TMJ.

Elements of hip joint prosthesis reliability
Journal of Medical Engineering & Technology, 1977The performance of a total hip prosthesis is considered in terms of reliability. The causes requiring removal of the prosthesis are considered and methods of avoiding these difficulties are outlined. It is pointed out that most attention must be focused on the areas of low reliability.

Comparison of 2 temporomandibular joint total joint prosthesis systems
Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 2003The study goal was to evaluate the comparative outcomes of patients treated with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) total joint prostheses, using either the Christensen prosthesis (TMJ Inc, Golden, CO) (CP) or the TMJ Concepts prosthesis (TMJ Concepts Inc, Camarillo, CA; formerly Techmedica Inc) (TP).Forty-five consecutive patients treated with either CP or
