Bias in Sentencing Men for Sexual Offenses Against Minors: Male Victims Bring More Punitive Sentences Than Female Victims

open access: yesBehavioral Sciences &the Law, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Prior theoretical and empirical research examining the influence of sex on sentencing has been primarily concerned with the sex of the offender, as opposed to the victim. The present study drew on a convenience sample of males (n = 1190) in state and federal correctional facilities across the country, examining minimum sentences in relation to

In‐Situ X‐ray Absorption Spectroscopy for Dehydrogenation and Decomposition Mechanisms of an Iridium Pincer Catalyst Exposed to Gaseous Isopropanol

open access: yesChemCatChem, Accepted Article.
On‐site hydrogen gas production from hydrogen rich liquids offers a clean alternative to fossil fuels for combustion that is readily implemented in existing energy infrastructure. A heterogenized (POCOP)‐Ir pincer catalyst can be operated at higher temperatures for higher turnover frequency but the reaction pathway of the reported complex has not been ...

Effective Potential of Nambu--Jona-Lasinio Model in Differential Regularization [PDF]

open access: yesChin.J.Phys. 33 (1995) 213-220, 1995
The method of differential regularization is applied to calculate explicitly the one-loop effective potential of a bosonized Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model consisting of scalar and pseudoscalar fields. The regularization scheme independent relation for the $\sigma$ mass sum rule is obtained.
