Dielectric‐Confinement‐Induced in‐Plane Photoelectric Anisotropy in Isotropic Quasi‐1D γ‐GaS Nanoribbon

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We investigate the geometry‐governed optoelectronic anisotropy arising from dielectric confinement in quasi‐1D γ‐GaS nanoribbons with intrinsically isotropic atomic structures. Dielectric mismatch between the nanoribbon and its surroundings leads to a general polarization‐dependent photoresponse during near‐field scattering.

A matrix for computing the Jones polynomial of a knot

open access: yesTopology, 1995
We describe a scheme which associates to each unoriented knot diagram a symmetric matrix over the field \(\mathbb{Z}_2\), and we show how the bracket polynomial (and, thus, the Jones polynomial) of the knot an be calculated from this matrix using elementary linear algebra.

High Free‐Volume Imidazole‐Based Ionomers for High‐Temperature Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High free‐volume imidazole‐based ionomers (PF4IM‐72) enable enhanced phosphoric acid uptake and efficient proton transport, delivering peak power densities of 0.645 W cm−2 at 160 °C and 0.838 W cm−2 at 200 °C in HT‐PEMFCs. This work highlights a promising platform for next‐generation ionomers with improved high‐temperature performance and stability ...

Quality Thresholds for Angiogenesis Under Acoustic Manipulation in Engineered Vascular Tissues

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Defined biological and physical quality thresholds achieved through acoustic manipulation regulate cellular alignment and spatial organization, promoting self‐assembling vasculature, extracellular matrix deposition, and angiogenic responses, thereby establishing critical acoustic patterning requirements for engineered vascular tissue development in ...

Synergetic full-parametric Aharonov–Anandan and Pancharatnam–Berry phase for arbitrary polarization and wavefront control

open access: yesNanophotonics
Electromagnetic devices with multiple polarization modes are urgently needed in remote sensing detection and radar imaging due to their ability to obtain scattering information from targets through manipulation of full-parametric Jones matrix components (

Strain‐Adaptive Dielectric Metamaterials via Bioinspired “Ligament‐Bone” Architecture for Ultrahigh‐Energy Capacitive Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bioinspired strain‐adaptive ligament‐bone architecture achieves record‐high energy density of 26.1 J cm−3 and 90% efficiency at 600 MV m−1, coupled with a Young's modulus of 2.13 GPa. ABSTRACT Polymer dielectrics for capacitive energy storage face fundamental trade‐offs between breakdown strength, energy density, efficiency, and mechanical robustness.

Fiber-based lensless polarization holography for measuring Jones matrix parameters of polarization-sensitive materials.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2017
We report a fiber-based lensless holographic imaging system to realize a single-shot measurement of two dimensional (2-D) Jones matrix parameters of polarization-sensitive materials.
