Jones matrix for corner reflectors
Measurement Techniques, 1996The Jones matrix for a corner reflector is obtained in explicit form. The structure of the reflector is equivalent to that of a system consisting of a linear phase element and a natural optical rotator.

Mueller-Jones Matrix measurement in material identification
SPIE Proceedings, 2016The uniformity of lattice arrangement plays an important role in industrial processing, science and technology studies and environmental pollution detection. However, there are very little papers to study surface structure by depolarization characteristics.

Jones matrix physical parameters for media in inhomogeneous fields
Applied Optics, 2018Inhomogeneous media are affected by a physical or an electromagnetic field, where the off-diagonal elements of the Jones matrix are complex numbers with both real and imaginary parts. Inhomogeneities of the electromagnetic field result in the eigenvalue coordinate system changing along the light path.

Jones-Matrix Dual-Comb Spectroscopic Polarimetry
CLEO 2024We propose an innovative approach that combines dual-comb spectroscopy with polarization control pulse sequences featuring distinct polarizations and time delays. This integration enables a detailed analysis of a sample's polarization response using the Jones matrix.

Extended Jones matrix method for gyrotropic media
Optical Society of America Annual Meeting, 1992Birefringent networks play an important role in many advanced optical systems, such as birefringent filters, polarizers, and liquid crystal displays. Most of the applications require a wide field of view and a range of optical axis orientations. In order to design and characterize these devices, the transmission properties of light in birefringent ...

Jones matrix microscopy from a single-shot intensity measurement
Optics Letters, 2017Quantitative measurement of Jones matrix elements is crucial for the study of light polarization with the wide range of applications. Here, we propose and experimentally demonstrate a novel method of Fourier space sharing to determine spatially resolved all four elements of the Jones matrix from a single-intensity frame.

Modified Jones matrix for optical PMD compensation
OFC/NFOEC Technical Digest. Optical Fiber Communication Conference, 2005., 2005We numerically simulate the average frequency dependence of the coupling that occurs between signal components in the two principal states of polarization and employ our results to define an improved transfer matrix for PMD compensation.

Jones Matrix Tomography - Principle, Implementation, and Application
CLEO Pacific Rim Conference, 2018Here we present the basic principle and applications of Jones matrix optical coherence tomography (JM-OCT), which simultaneously visualizes scattering, polarization, and flow property of living tissue.

Study of Jones Matrix of The Birefringent Crystal
2009 Symposium on Photonics and Optoelectronics, 2009Eigen optical wave vector being as basic vector, the general Jones Matrix of the birefringent crystal is derived according to the transmitting theory of light in the crystal. The Jones matrixesof the crystal with linear , circular and elliptical eigen optical wave are analyzed and discussed.

Jones matrix equivalence theorems for polarization theory
European Journal of Physics, 1998Summary: Two general theorems on the multiplicative decomposition of physically realizable, but absorbing, Jones matrices are proven using the method of singular-value decomposition. It is shown that these Jones matrices can always be decomposed into the products of rotators, retardation plates and partial polarizers. Another purpose of the paper is to
