Endothelial Cells Angiogenesis in Sulfated Glycosaminoglycan (GAG) Hydrogels Enhanced by Bioactive Glass‐Released Ions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A mechanically tunable hydrogel composed of gelatin, chondroitin sulfate and laminin promotes angiogenesis in vitro without the supplement of growth factors. Endothelial cells morphogenesis was further enhanced by medium conditioned with bioactive glass 58S‐released ions (Ca and Si), thus offering a promising strategy to vascularize 3D tissue ...

Molecular dynamics simulation of pull-out Halloysite nanotube from polyurethane matrix

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2021
Molecular dynamics (MD) simulation has been applied to study of pull-out of Halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) from a polyurethane (PU) matrix. First, the Machine learning (ML) particle swarm optimization (PSO) method was used to obtain force field parameters ...

Transpose symmetry of the Jones matrix and topological phases [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2008
The transmission Jones matrix of an arbitrary stack of reciprocal plane parallel plates which has been turned through 180 degrees about an axis in the plane of the stack is, in an appropriate basis, the transpose of the transmission matrix of the unturned slab with a change in the sign of the off-diagonal elements.

Broadband, Flexible, Skin‐Compatible Carbon Dots/Graphene Photodetectors for Wearable Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Broadband, flexible photodetectors integrating nitrogen‐rich carbon dots with single‐layer graphene on plastic substrates are demonstrated. A biocompatible chitosan–glycerol electrolyte enables efficient low‐voltage gating and on‐skin operation. The devices exhibit ultraviolet‐to‐near‐infrared response, mechanical robustness under bending, and verified

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

All-Optical Polarization Manipulation Through Orbital Polarization Holography

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2022
Spin-orbital optical phenomena are closely related with light-matter interactions and have been of great interest in the last few years. Here, the effect of optical orbital angular momentum (OAM) on polarized waves carrying spin angular momentum (SAM ...

Chiral SURMOFs for Vibrational Circular Dichroism: Multiscale Modeling and Experimental Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The use of solid‐state vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) for MOFs is still somewhat unexplored, and in this work, it is shown that chiral surface‐anchored MOFs (SURMOFs) grown on CaF2 provide an excellent platform for VCD. Experimental results are validated through multiscale modeling, showing strong agreement across multiple spectroscopic ...

Mathematically modeling of target speed effect on nonlinearity in DTLMI-based nano-metrology system [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Optoelectronical Nanostructures, 2018
Jones matrix computation is one of the widely used methods in nonlinearitycalculation in laser interferometers. In this paper, the nonlinearity error in developedthree-longitudinal mode heterodyne interferometer (DTLMI) has been mathematicallymodeled at ...

Calibration of the complete Jones matrix of SLMs

open access: yesOptical Instrument Science, Technology, and Applications II, 2021
Spatial light modulators are very common in many applications. They are used to implement amplitude, phase and polarization masks. In order to optimize its performance, it is important to characterize it, which means determining its Jones matrix. Here we present a method which consists on performing several intensity measurements for each gray level ...
