Additivity of Jordan maps on Jordan algebras

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications, 2009
AbstractLet A and B be two Jordan algebras. In this paper, we investigate the additivity of maps ϕ from A onto B that are bijective and satisfyϕ(a∘b)=ϕ(a)∘ϕ(b),for all a,b∈A. If A contains an idempotent which satisfies some conditions, then ϕ is additive. This result generalizes all results about additivity of Jordan maps in [1,3–9,11].

Algebras of quotients of nonsingular Jordan algebras

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2007
AbstractWe define a Jordan analogue of Johnson's associative algebra of quotients and study it under a suitable condition of nonsingularity of the Jordan algebra, which we call strong nonsingularity. In particular, we prove the existence and describe the maximal algebras of quotients of prime strongly nonsingular Jordan algebras.

Invertibility-preserving maps of C∗-algebras with real rank zero

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2005
In 1996, Harris and Kadison posed the following problem: show that a linear bijection between C∗-algebras that preserves the identity and the set of invertible elements is a Jordan isomorphism. In this paper, we show that if A and B are semisimple Banach

Some conditions under which Jordan derivations are zero

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science, 2017
In the current article, we obtain the following results: Let A be an algebra and P be a semi-prime ideal of A. Suppose that d:A→(A/P) is a Jordan derivation such that dim{d(a)|a∈A}≤1. If d(P)={0}, then d is zero.
