Should we measure quality of life among people with HIV? A multicentre survey of physicians' opinions in Spain. [PDF]

open access: yesHIV Med
Abstract Objectives We assessed the opinions of physicians caring for people with HIV (PWH) from the multicentre Spanish CoRIS cohort regarding the assessment of health‐related quality of life (HRQoL). Methods We designed an online self‐administered questionnaire comprising 27 structured questions across four domains: (i) sociodemographic and clinical ...

Health-related quality of life in people with HIV from the multicentre CoRIS cohort in Spain: Associated factors and short-term changes over time. [PDF]

open access: yesHIV Med
Abstract Objectives We aimed to describe health‐related quality of life (HRQoL), overall and across its dimensions, identify associated factors, and assess changes over time among people with HIV (PWH) from the Spanish multicentre CoRIS cohort.

Propionic Acidemia-Induced Proarrhythmic Electrophysiological Alterations in Human iPSC-Derived Cardiomyocytes. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Inherit Metab Dis
ABSTRACT Propionic acidemia (PA) is a metabolic disorder caused by a deficiency of the mitochondrial enzyme propionyl‐CoA carboxylase (PCC) due to mutations in the PCCA or PCCB genes, which encode the two PCC subunits. PA may lead to several types of cardiomyopathy and has been linked to cardiac electrical abnormalities such as QT interval prolongation,

Transmitted drug resistance to antiretroviral drugs in Spain during the period 2019–2021

open access: yesJournal of Medical Virology, Volume 95, Issue 12, December 2023., 2023
Abstract To evaluate the prevalence of transmitted drug resistance (TDR) to nucleoside and nonnucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTI, NNRTI), protease inhibitors (PI), and integrase strand transfer inhibitors (INSTI) in Spain during the period 2019–2021, as well as to evaluate transmitted clinically relevant resistance (TCRR) to ...

FaMYB123 interacts with FabHLH3 to regulate the late steps of anthocyanin and flavonol biosynthesis during ripening

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 114, Issue 3, Page 683-698, May 2023., 2023
SUMMARY In this work, we identified and functionally characterized the strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa) R2R3 MYB transcription factor FaMYB123. As in most genes associated with organoleptic properties of ripe fruit, FaMYB123 expression is ripening‐related, receptacle‐specific, and antagonistically regulated by ABA and auxin.

Sardines at a junction: Seascape genomics reveals ecological and oceanographic drivers of variation in the NW Mediterranean Sea

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 32, Issue 7, Page 1608-1628, April 2023., 2023
Abstract By evaluating genetic variation across the entire genome, one can address existing questions in a novel way while raising new ones. The latter includes how different local environments influence adaptive and neutral genomic variation within and among populations, providing insights into local adaptation of natural populations and their ...

The international WAO/EAACI guideline for the management of hereditary angioedema—The 2021 revision and update

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 77, Issue 7, Page 1961-1990, July 2022., 2022
Abstract Hereditary angioedema (HAE) is a rare and disabling disease for which early diagnosis and effective therapy are critical. This revision and update of the global WAO/EAACI guideline on the diagnosis and management of HAE provides up‐to‐date guidance for the management of HAE. For this update and revision of the guideline, an international panel

Bottleneck‐associated changes in the genomic landscape of genetic diversity in wild lynx populations

open access: yesEvolutionary Applications, Volume 14, Issue 11, Page 2664-2679, November 2021., 2021
Abstract Demographic bottlenecks generally reduce genetic diversity through more intense genetic drift, but their net effect may vary along the genome due to the random nature of genetic drift and to local effects of recombination, mutation, and selection.
