Although he was just 18 years old and from a small rural community, his murder made front‐page news and became the major subject of commentary and speculation in the country.

Functional Diversity of Neotropical Aquatic Hyphomycetes: Insights Into Environmental Drivers
Biotropica, Volume 57, Issue 6, November 2025.Subtropical streams host diverse hyphomycete assemblages than tropical one's. Larger saprotrophs with diverse conidia shapes dominate in subtropical areas. Cold and oxygenated waters have a positive effect on functional diversity. Poor litter in tropical favored the dominance of wood saprotrophs and endophytes.
