Jovian signal at BOREXINO

open access: yesPhysical Review D
The BOREXINO experiment has been collecting solar neutrino data since 2007, providing the opportunity to study the variation of the event rate over a decade. We find that at 96% C.L., the rate of low energy events shows a time modulation favoring a correlation with a flux from Jupiter.

Unraveling Jupiter's Enigmatic Ionosphere: Evidence of Magnetically‐Controlled Wind‐Driven Dynamics

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 24, 28 December 2025.
Abstract This study investigates the non‐solar trends and variability in Jupiter's sub‐auroral ionosphere from Pioneer, Voyager, Galileo, and Juno radio occultation electron density profiles. We show that these data are correlated with magnetic field geometry via primarily westward and equatorward thermospheric neutral winds driving field‐aligned ...

Altitude Profile and Isotopic Composition for N2 From Pioneer Venus Mass Spectra

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 23, 16 December 2025.
Abstract We report the highest resolution altitude profile and isotopic composition for N2 at Venus, to date. These results were obtained through re‐analysis of data acquired by the Pioneer Venus Large Probe Neutral Mass Spectrometer (LNMS). The N2 is non‐uniformly mixed across the clouds and sub‐cloud atmosphere (∼59–15 km) yet uniformly mixed across ...

Radar Polarimetry in Glaciology: Theory, Measurement Techniques, and Scientific Applications for Investigating the Anisotropy of Ice Masses

open access: yesReviews of Geophysics, Volume 63, Issue 4, December 2025.
Abstract Dielectric anisotropy in ice alters the propagation of polarized radio waves, so polarimetric radar sounding can be used to survey anisotropic properties of ice masses. Ice anisotropy is either intrinsic, associated with ice‐crystal orientation fabric (COF), or extrinsic, associated with material heterogeneity, such as bubbles, fractures, and ...

On the formation of Ganymede's surface brightness asymmetries: Kinetic simulations of Ganymede's magnetosphere

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2016
Ganymede possesses strong surface brightness asymmetries both between its polar cap and equatorial regions and between its leading and trailing hemispheres.

Electron Energy Spectra in Jupiter's Radiation Belts From Juno‐JEDI

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 130, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract Radiation transport simulations of the Jupiter Energetic‐particle Detector Instrument (JEDI) onboard the Juno spacecraft were performed to understand its response to high energy electrons. Determination of the JEDI response function is the first rigorous effort of its kind and was used to reconstruct the true electron foreground, extending the

Jupiter’s Metastable Companions

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
Jovian co-orbitals share Jupiter’s orbit and exhibit 1:1 mean-motion resonance with the planet. This includes >10,000 so-called Trojan asteroids surrounding the leading (L4) and trailing (L5) Lagrange points, viewed as stable groups dating back to planet

Jupiter's X‐ray Aurorae. A High Signal Spectral Analysis of the 0.24–1.40 keV Energy Range

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 130, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract Jupiter's X‐ray auroras are predominantly produced by precipitating energetic heavy ions. Recent results suggest a connection between the pulsation rate of these ion aurorae and the pulsation rate of magnetospheric waves. Using remote X‐ray observations and results from in situ measurements from the Juno Jupiter Energetic particle Detector ...

Fluid Flow at the Top of Jupiter's Dynamo Region

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 130, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract The magnetic main field (MF) and secular variation (SV) models for Jupiter can be used to gain insights about the internal dynamo and the flow that drives the field. We use two such models computed from Juno observations up to spherical harmonic degrees 16 and 8 for the MF and SV, respectively.
