Analysis of JSI TRIGA MARK II reactor physical parameters calculated with TRIPOLI and MCNP

Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2015
New computational model of the JSI TRIGA Mark II research reactor was built for TRIPOLI computer code and compared with existing MCNP code model. The same modelling assumptions were used in order to check the differences of the mathematical models of both Monte Carlo codes. Differences between the TRIPOLI and MCNP predictions of keff were up to 100pcm.

Validation of the neutron and gamma fields in the JSI TRIGA reactor using in-core fission and ionization chambers

Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2015
CEA developed fission chambers and ionization chambers were utilized at the JSI TRIGA reactor to measure neutron and gamma fields. The measured axial fission rate distributions in the reactor core are generally in good agreement with the calculated values using the Monte Carlo model of the reactor thus verifying both the computational model and the ...

Validation of neutron flux redistribution factors in JSI TRIGA reactor due to control rod movements

Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2015
For efficient utilization of research reactors, such as TRIGA Mark II reactor in Ljubljana, it is important to know neutron flux distribution in the reactor as accurately as possible. The focus of this study is on the neutron flux redistributions due to control rod movements.

Analysis of irradiation experiments with activated water radiation source at the JSI TRIGA Research Reactor

Fusion Engineering and Design, 2020
Abstract Activated cooling water in nuclear facilities can present a significant radiation source around primary cooling system causing radiation damage to electrical components, increasing doses to personnel and in the case of fusion facilities additional heating to superconducting coils.

Delayed gamma determination at the JSI TRIGA reactor by synchronous measurements with fission and ionization chambers

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2018
Abstract Well characterized neutron and gamma fields inside a nuclear reactor are of key importance for its safe operation and for successful utilization of various research reactor irradiation facilities. In case of high-flux research reactors such as BR2 in Belgium, Maria in Poland and the future Jules Horowitz Reactor in France, the gamma energy ...
