At the Beach

Pediatric Emergency Care, 2016
Splenic injury due to blunt abdominal trauma is an emergency condition in pediatrics. We present a case of a 10-year-old girl who presented to the emergency department 12 hours after a fall from height with abdominal pain, vomiting, and left upper quadrant tenderness and was found to have splenic rupture.

Reversible jump Markov chain Monte Carlo computation and Bayesian model determination

, 1995
Markov chain Monte Carlo methods for Bayesian computation have until recently been restricted to problems where the joint distribution of all variables has a density with respect to some fixed standard underlying measure.

Jumping to Conclusions in "Jumping the Queue"

Stanford Law Review, 1998
In this review, Andrew Weis critically examines Mark Kelman and Gillian Lester's Jumping the Queue. An Inquiry into the Legal Treatment of Students with Learning Disabilities. Writing from the perspective of an individual who has a learning disability, Weis disputes Kelman and Lester's contention that people with learning disabilities should not ...

Event-Triggered Asynchronous Guaranteed Cost Control for Markov Jump Discrete-Time Neural Networks With Distributed Delay and Channel Fading

IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, 2018
This paper is concerned with the guaranteed cost control problem for a class of Markov jump discrete-time neural networks (NNs) with event-triggered mechanism, asynchronous jumping, and fading channels.

Fuzzy-Model-Based Nonfragile Control for Nonlinear Singularly Perturbed Systems With Semi-Markov Jump Parameters

IEEE transactions on fuzzy systems, 2018
This paper is concerned with the fuzzy-model-based nonfragile control problem for discrete-time nonlinear singularly perturbed systems with stochastic jumping parameters. The stochastic parameters are generated from the semi-Markov process.
