Redirected Jumping: Imperceptibly Manipulating Jump Motions in Virtual Reality

IEEE Conference on Virtual Reality and 3D User Interfaces, 2019
Jumping is a fundamental movement in our daily lives that is often used in many video games. However, little research has been done on jumping and its possible use as a redirection technique in virtual reality (VR).

How to jump further and catch up? Path-breaking in an uneven industry space

, 2017
Recent studies have argued that regional diversification emerges as a path-dependent process. Developed countries that industrialize do so first from core areas in an uneven industry space and have more opportunities to jump to new related industries and

On the commutativity of jumps

Journal of Symbolic Logic, 2000
AbstractWe study the following classes:● Q* (r1A1…..rkAk) which is defined to be the collection of all sets that can be computed by a Turing machine that on any input makes a total of ri, queries to Ai, for all i ∈ {1..… k}.● Q(r1A1…..rkAk) which is defined like Q* (r1A1….. rkAk) except that queries to Ai, must be made before queries to Ai+1 for all i ∈

The “Jump” Effect

Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1996
The jump effect occurs when an object, for example, a small square, moves on a homogeneous background at a constant velocity along its path except for a short section wherein the velocity suddenly changes to a higher value. In correspondence with this increase, observers may report that the object appears to jump.
