Type studies on Neotropical Lejeuneaceae (Jungermanniopsida). Cheilolejeunea and Lepidolejeunea
Based on the examination of type material and additional collections, the following new combinations and synonyms in Lejeuneaceae from tropical America are proposed: Cheilolejeunea beyrichii (Lindenb.) E.Reiner comb. nov. (Lejeunea beyrichii Lindenb., = Hygrolejeunea petropolitana Steph., = H.

A phylogeny of Cephaloziaceae (Jungermanniopsida) based on nuclear and chloroplast DNA markers
Cephaloziaceae represent a subcosmopolitan lineage of largely terrestrial leafy liverworts with three-keeled perianths, a reduced seta, capsules with bistratose walls, filamentous sporelings, large, thin-walled cells, and vegetative distribution by gemmae. Here we present the most comprehensively sampled phylogeny available to date based on the nuclear

Allopolyploid speciation of Calypogeia sphagnicola (Jungermanniopsida, Calypogeiaceae) based on isozyme and DNA markers [PDF]
Calypogeia sphagnicola is one of nine species of the genus Calypogeia known in Europe. Occurrence of the species is closely connected with peat bogs. Nowadays, two forms of this species are distinguished—C. sphagnicola f. sphagnicola and C. sphagnicola f. paludosa. The results of the present study, based on two classes of markers—isozymes and sequences

A Sphagnum recurvum fajcsoport morfológiai, ökológiai és genetikai vizsgálata = Morphological, ecological and genetic investigation of Sphagnum recurvum group [PDF]
A Sphagnum recurvum fajcsoport tagjainak elkülönítése egy régóta fennálló taxonómiai probléma. 22 országból 244 európai és 175 magyar tőzegmoha egyedet vontunk be a vizsgálatainkba, amelyeken mikroszatellita anlízist végeztünk (11 lókuszon), megmértünk ...

The leafy liverwort Frullania (Jungermanniopsida) in the Cretaceous amber forest of Myanmar
Abstract Examination of two pieces of amber from the mid-Cretaceous of Myanmar revealed seven inclusions of leafy liverworts that we assign to the extinct Frullania cretacea Hentschel et al. 2009. These inclusions show a suite of characters that were not visible in the type specimen of F. cretacea .

Deep sequencing of Ptilidium (Ptilidiaceae) suggests evolutionary stasis in liverwort plastid genome structure [PDF]
Background and aims – Organellar genome sampling is patchy for non-vascular groups, with the earliest land plants poorly represented; currently only two liverworts, two mosses and one hornwort have sequenced, annotated plastid genomes.

The Moss Macromitrium Richardii (Orthotrichaceae) with Sporophyte and Calyptra Enclosed in Hymenaea Resin from the Dominican Republic [PDF]
Dominican amber is an important source for Early Miocene bryophytes. We report the moss Macromitrium richardii Schwägr., an extant representative of the Orthotrichaceae, from the Dominican amber collection of the American Museum of Natural History.
