Jurassic non-marine gastropods from the Junggar Basin, northwestern China

Geological Society, London, Special Publications, 2023
Abstract Non-marine gastropod fossils are abundant in the Middle Jurassic Toutunhe Formation in the Ziniquanzi section of the southern Junggar Basin, Xinjiang, NW China, and in the Lower Jurassic Sangonghe Formation in the Tuziakeneigou section of Karamay in the northwestern Junggar Basin.

Basement structure and properties of the southern Junggar Basin

Journal of Geodynamics, 2018
Abstract We have investigated the detailed structures of velocity, density and magnetization intensity along a nearly east-west profile from Liugou to Dajing across the southern Junggar Basin using the seismic converted wave profiling and joint inversion of gravity and geomagnetic data. Our observations reveal such important interfaces as interface B

Tectonic Evolution and Petroleum Systems in the Junggar Basin

Acta Geologica Sinica - English Edition, 2004
Abstract  The Junggar basin is located in the northern part of Xinjiang of China. It is part of the Kazakstan plate, surrounded by the Paleozoic folded mountains: the Halaart, Zayier and Chepaizi Mountains in the northwest, the Qingelidi and Karamaili Mountains in the northeast, and the Tianshan Mountains in the south.

Thermal regime and petroleum systems in Junggar basin, northwest China

Physics of the Earth and Planetary Interiors, 2001
Abstract The conversion of organic matter into oil and gas depends upon temperature and time, and the study of thermal maturation of oil-source rocks in a petroleum system is of importance for formation of a petroleum system. Based on the temperature data from 196 wells and thermal conductivity measurements of 90 core samples, altogether 35 heat flow

Process Simulation of Carboniferous Volcanic in Jinlong Area, Junggar Basin

Materials Science Forum, 2020
The Jinlong area is located in the northwestern margin of Junggar Basin. Volcanic is widely distributed in Carboniferous layers, showing well petroleum resources prospects. The distribution of volcanic reservoirs is obviously controlled by the distribution characteristics of volcanic lithofacies.

Basement Structure and Properties of the Western Junggar Basin, China

Journal of Earth Science, 2019
A comprehensive geophysical profile stretching from Qingyijing at the southern edge of the Junggar Basin to Ubara on the northern margin of the Junggar Basin was conducted in an attempt to probe the crustal structure of the western Junggar Basin (hereafter referred to simply as ‘the Basin’), and, in particular, the structure and property of the Basin’s

Late Devonian rhynchonellids (Brachiopoda) from the Junggar Basin, northwestern Xinjiang

Palaeoworld, 2011
Abstract Rhynchonellid brachiopods from the Late Devonian (broadly late Frasnian–Famennian) Hongguleleng Formation in the Junggar Basin, northwestern Xinjiang, consist of 12 species (six not identified to species-level) in 11 genera. Three new species are established with the aid of serial sections: Sinotectirostrum triangularum , Evanescirostrum ...

Sequence Stratigraphy of Jurassic Succession in Central Junggar Basin, China

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
Sequence stratigraphic features of the Jurassic succession in Central Junggar Basin were investigated by integrating multiple materials including cores, well and seismic data. Due to their unique formation mechanism, sequences of the target interval were analyzed with a binary systems tract mode (each complete sequence contains a transgressive systems ...

The Basement Features Research of Junggar Basin, China: A Review

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
There are different understanding of long-standing and significant differences about the characteristic and age of the basement of Junggar Basin. And the existence of Precambrian crystalline basement and the nature of Paleozoic folded basement of the Junggar basin are under question.

FAULT-CONTROLLED HYDROCARBON DISTRIBUTION IN THE JUNGGAR BASIN, NW CHINA

Journal of Petroleum Geology, 1993
The Junggar Basin is an important oil‐ and gas‐bearing basin, with thick source rocks, of Carboniferous. Permian. Triassic and Jurassic ages. Hydrocarbon accumulations are controlled by major faults which trend NNW. NW and NE; NE‐striking reverse faults constitute the Kelemay thrust‐zone in the NW basin margin; those trending NW are of lesser ...
