The response of Middle Jurassic depositional environments to climate change in the Wucaiwan mining area, Junggar Basin, China

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The Middle Jurassic represents a typical greenhouse climate period in Earth’s history, during which global carbon cycle perturbations and climatic events left significant records in continental strata.

Late Triassic-Early Jurassic abnormal thermal event constrained by zircon fission track dating and vitrinite reflectance in Xishan coalfield, Qinshui Basin, central North China

open access: yes, 2017
Xishan coalfield, Shanxi, is located in the northwest of the Qinshui Basin, central North China. It is notable for its varieties of coal rank ranging from high volatile bituminous coals to anthracite as well as having abundant coalbed methane resources ...

Simulation of the Liquid–Solid Coupling in the Distribution Law of Water‐Conducted Fractures in Weakly Cemented Overburden Strata as Exemplified by Daliuta Coal Mine in Western China

open access: yesGeofluids, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Based on the engineering background of the Daliuta mining area, the distribution of fractures and movement of water within weakly cemented overlying strata were studied with a physical simulation of liquid–solid coupling and a COMSOL numerical simulation test.

Petrology and Geochemistry of the Jurassic Coals in Southwestern Ordos Basin, China

open access: yes, 2010
This study is related to seven Jurassic bituminous coal samples collected from four mines of the Huanglong coalfield, southwestern Ordos Basin, China. Petrological and geochemical characteristics of these samples were investigated. The results show that

Revision of Sagenopteris (Caytoniales): a major lineage of the Mesozoic seed plants

open access: yesPapers in Palaeontology, Volume 10, Issue 6, November/December 2024.
Abstract Sagenopteris is the most common fossil organ attributed to Caytoniales and is represented by compound leaves having several (usually four) lanceolate leaflets in pseudo‐palmate arrangement. Since Presl's description of Sagenopteris in 1838, at least 82 species have been identified worldwide.

Provenance and the U–Pb age constraints on the tuff beds of the Late Jurassic–Early Cretaceous Bazhenovo Formation, West Siberian Basin

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, Volume 10, Issue 2, Page 312-334, April 2024.
Report on the geochemistry and geochronology of the tuff beds from the Bazhenovo black shales, West Siberian Basin. Geochemical discrimination indicates an affinity with volcanic arc basalts. New constraints on the J–K boundary in the Boreal Realm using high‐precision U–Pb data.

Mechanism and control of strong rock pressure in the gully area under compound key strata

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 12, Issue 4, Page 1745-1758, April 2024.
In view of the problem strong rock pressure is easy to occur in coal seam mining in western gully terrain. Through similar simulation, theoretical calculation and analysis, numerical simulation and field measurement, the mechanism of strong rock pressure in the gully area was analyzed.

Stratigraphy, palaeogeography and evolution of the lower Nanaimo Group (Cretaceous), Georgia Basin, Canada

open access: yesBasin Research, Volume 36, Issue 1, January–February 2024.
The siliciclastic lower Nanaimo Group records the initiation and depositional evolution of a forearc basin (Georgia Basin, Canada). Our research revises the traditional lithostratigraphic framework and proposes a new stratigraphic framework for the lower Nanaimo Group.

Static and dynamic connectivity in bed-scale models of faulted and unfaulted turbidites

open access: yes, 2007
A range of unfaulted and faulted bed-scale models with sheet-like bed geometries have been built and analysed in terms of static bed connectivity and fractional permeability assuming permeable sands and impermeable shales. The models are built using a
