2017In 2009, Movement Generation Justice & Ecology Project co-led a delegation of U.S. grassroots groups to the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. Appalled by the failure of the “Big Greens” to address the root causes of the climate crisis, in 2010, these groups brought others in to form what would later become the Climate Justice Alliance.

Due to lack of national governmental provisions, many of the states transitioning away from climate-destroying fossil fuels to climate-safe renewable energy are developing policies and programs to protect workers and communities from damaging effects of that transition.
