Juvenile Delinquency Treatment and Prevention: A Literature Review

In the last three decades there has been ample research to demonstrate that instituting Multisystemic Therapy for serious juvenile offenders, keeping them in the community with intensive intervention, can significantly reduce recidivism. When there is recidivism, it is less severe than in released incarcerated juveniles.

This chapter examines children's and juvenile literature. Many pre-Victorian children did not encounter children's fiction at all. A substantial number, of course, were largely disconnected from literary culture by indigence or illiteracy. However, lots of those young people who did consume books continued to use material designed primarily for adults.

[Juvenile gigantomastia. Case report and literature survey].

A juvenile gigantomastia with wet tender ulceration in a 13-year-old premenarchal girl (155 cm, 51 kg) developed in only 6 months. Treatment consisted of a bilateral reduction mammoplasty with free transplantation of the areolae and nipples and the removal of 4.2 kg of breast tissue. Macroscopically the resections consisted of "white and solid" tissue.
