Ontogenetic Changes in Feeding Behaviors in Tufted Capuchins. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Objectives Wild juvenile capuchins exhibit lower feeding success than adults, particularly for mechanically challenging foods, but ontogenetic changes in oral food processing behaviors related to this reduced success are unknown. We test how oral food processing efficiency varies across development in an experimental setting in tufted ...

Abstract Age mimicry is a well‐known phenomenon in the application of osteological age‐estimation methods. Value of human‐modified forests for the conservation of canopy epiphytes
Although HMFs provide important refuge for many species, our results show that they do not provide suitable conditions for the maintenance of current or future canopy epiphyte communities. Our findings suggest that conserving large continuous old‐growth forests is the only viable conservation option for protecting most vascular epiphytes.

Abstract A comparison of different studies is only possible if the same guidelines are used. However, due to the rather imprecise description of the different nonmetric traits on the anterior femoral neck (i.e., Allen's fossa, femoral plaque, Poirier's facet), it is impossible to compare the results of different authors. This is especially the case for

Mating, births, and transitions: a flexible two‐sex matrix model for evolutionary demography
Abstract Models of sexually‐reproducing populations that consider only a single sex cannot capture the effects of sex‐specific demographic differences and mate availability. We present a new framework for two‐sex demographic models that implements and extends the birth‐matrix mating‐rule approach of Pollak.
