Photosynthetische Mikroorganismen können zur lichtgetriebenen H2‐Entwicklung genutzt werden. Eine Einschränkung ist jedoch die damit verbundene Bildung von molekularem Sauerstoff als Nebenprodukt der Photosynthese, der die Aktivität des Biokatalysators für die H2‐Produktion, d. h. die Hydrogenase, inhibiert.

Heavy is the Crown: Crown Ether Modulation of Cobalt Porphyrin CO2 Electroreduction in Zero‐Gap Electrolyzers

The implementation of crown ethers into the ligand of cobalt porphyrins benefits the electrochemical CO2 reduction in the several ways: (1) the reduction potential is lowered in presence of K+; (2) it boosts the CO generation in Zero‐Gap Electrolyzers and (3) ensures complex stability during electrolysis.

Introducing the Cis‐2,3‐Bis(trifluoromethyl)cyclopropyl Chemotype: Late‐Stage Installation and Stereoelectronic Properties

The cis‐2,3‐bis(trifluoromethyl)cyclopropyl chemotype is introduced. The steric demand of this motif is intermediate between that of the heptafluoroisopropyl and prefluorotertbutyl groups; yet, it induces significantly less lipophilicity than these due to its facial polarity.

Eine dicke Eisschicht auf dem Ozean, hunderte Meter tief gefrorener Boden und ein über 3 000 m hoher Eisschild – diese einzigartige Landschaft wird es vermutlich so in Zukunft nicht mehr geben. Eine globale Erwärmung von 2,7 °C, auf die wir aktuell zusteuern, würde die Arktis bis zur Unkenntlichkeit verändern.
