Navier-Stokes turbine heat transfer predictions using two-equation turbulence [PDF]
Navier-Stokes calculations were carried out in order to predict the heat transfer rates on turbine blades. The calculations were performed using TRAF2D which is a two-dimensional, explicit, finite volume mass-averaged Navier-Stokes solver. Turbulence was

Raman Signature of the Wings of the Globe Skimmer Dragonfly: Pantala flavescens
Raman spectroscopy is used to confirm the presence of aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons and related derivatives including aldehydes, halides, alcohols, acids, esters, and phenols on the wings of Pantala flavescens. The analysis indicates that wing‐surface lipid composition is largely consistent across the three main ecological zones in Ghana. Notably,

CSR disclosure and investment efficiency in MENA countries: The moderating role of CSR committee
ABSTRACT Corporate social responsibility disclosure (CSRD) is often recognized as a transparency mechanism that allows companies to communicate their commitment to CSR. However, CSRD may also exacerbate agency conflicts. This study addresses these two contrasting perspectives by investigating the impact of CSRD on investment efficiency and exploring ...

Dual Variational Problems and Action Principles for Chen–Lee and Hopf–Langford Systems
ABSTRACT We describe the construction of dual variational principles and action functionals for nonlinear dynamical systems using a methodology based on the dual Lagrange multiplier formalism and a convex optimization approach, to derive families of dual actions that correspond to the given nonlinear ordinary differential system.

A new time scale based k-epsilon model for near wall turbulence [PDF]
A k-epsilon model is proposed for wall bonded turbulent flows. In this model, the eddy viscosity is characterized by a turbulent velocity scale and a turbulent time scale. The time scale is bounded from below by the Kolmogorov time scale. The dissipation

Interaction Between Vortex‐Induced Vibrations and Base Vibrations in Piezoelectric Harvesters
ABSTRACT In the present era, powering sensors using green energy is a significant challenge. One promising solution for the power supply of small sensors relies on piezoelectric energy harvesters excited by vortex‐induced vibrations (VIVs) generated by wind.

Wage reactions to regional and national unemployment
Abstract This paper analyses the entire wage effects of unemployment for an especially long observation period. In a three‐step approach, the wage reaction at the national level (wage‐setting curve or aggregate wage equation) is added to the reaction at the regional level (wage curve). Spatial models with instrumental variables are used.
