2D numerical investigation of liquid dispersion in rotating packed bed and its comparison with experimental measurements using high-speed camera [PDF]
Study deals with liquid dispersion of water in unstructured wire mesh of rotating packed bed, experimentally investigated using high speed camera. Dispersed water in outer region of rotating packed bed were captured by high-speed camera and droplet size ...

A model for the simulation of wind flow in complex terrain is presented based on the Reynolds averaged Navier–Stokes (RANS) equations. For the description of turbulence, the standard k-ε, the renormalization group (RNG) k-ε, and a ...

INFLUENCE OF DIFFERENT WIND ANGLES ON PEDESTRIAN WIND COMFORT IN 3D SPACE [PDF]
Wind can impact pedestrian comfort. This comfort can be observed by integrating a 3D city model into the study area. However, little research has been done on the influence of different wind angles on pedestrian wind comfort and rarely on implementing 3D

Assessment of CFD Solvers and Turbulent Models for Water Free Jets in Spillways
The capability of two different OpenFOAM® solvers, namely interFoam and twoPhaseEulerFoam, in reproducing the behavior of a free water jet was investigated.

Fluid Flow Simulations of a Vane Separator [PDF]
In this work, the fluid flow in a vane separator is simulated by Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Detailed measurements of air flow inside a single passage in a vane separator have earlier been presented (Josang and Melaaen 2000).

Ram pressure stripping of the hot gaseous haloes of galaxies using the k-epsilon sub-grid turbulence model [PDF]
We perform three dimensional hydrodynamic simulations of the ram pressure stripping of the hot extended gaseous halo of a massive galaxy using the k-epsilon sub-grid turbulence model at Mach numbers 0.9, 1.1 and 1.9. The k-epsilon model is used to simulate high Reynolds number flows by increasing the transport coefficients in regions of high turbulence.

CFD Wake Modelling with a BEM Wind Turbine Sub-Model [PDF]
Modelling of wind farms using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) resolving the flow field around each wind turbine's blades on a moving computational grid is still too costly and time consuming in terms of computational capacity and effort.

The turbulent mixing noise of a supersonic jet is calculated for a round convergent-divergent nozzle at the design pressure ratio. Aerodynamic computations are performed using the PARC code with a k-epsilon turbulence model.
