Asymptotic Behaviors of Nearest Neighbor Kernel Density Estimator in Left-truncated Data [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 2014
Kernel density estimators are the basic tools for density estimation in non-parametric statistics.  The k-nearest neighbor kernel estimators represent a special form of kernel density estimators, in  which  the  bandwidth  is varied depending on the ...

Homogeneous spaces, algebraic $K$-theory and cohomological dimension of fields

open access: yes, 2019
Let $q$ be a non-negative integer. We prove that a perfect field $K$ has cohomological dimension at most $q+1$ if, and only if, for any finite extension $L$ of $K$ and for any homogeneous space $Z$ under a smooth linear connected algebraic group over $L$,

Rational approximations to algebraic Laurent series with coefficients in a finite field [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper we give a general upper bound for the irrationality exponent of algebraic Laurent series with coefficients in a finite field. Our proof is based on a method introduced in a different framework by Adamczewski and Cassaigne.

Photon Avalanching Nanoparticles: The Next Generation of Upconverting Nanomaterials?

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This Perspective outlines the mechanistic foundations that enable photon‐avalanche (PA) behavior in lanthanide nanomaterials and contrasts them with emerging application spaces and forward‐looking design strategies. By bridging threshold engineering, energy‐transfer dynamics, and materials engineering, we provide a coherent roadmap for advancing the ...

BACH, a Bayesian Optimization Protocol for Accurate Coarse‐Grained Parameterization of Organic Liquids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present a fully automated Bayesian optimization (BO) protocol for the parameterization of nonbonded interactions in coarse‐grain CG force fields (BACH). Using experimental thermophysical data, we apply the protocol to a broad range of liquids, spanning linear, branched, and unsaturated hydrocarbons, esters, triglycerides, and water.

On almost sure convergence rates for the kernel estimator of a covariance operator under negative association [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mahani Mathematical Research
It is suppose that $\{X_n,~n\geq 1\}$ is a strictly stationary sequence of negatively associated random variables with continuous distribution function F.

Light‐Actuated Fiber‐Climbing Inchworm Robot Toward Endoluminal Navigation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A kirigami‐inspired soft inchworm robot harnesses optical energy from a customized side‐emitting optical fiber, guaranteeing its propulsion along the fiber body. The wavelength‐selective responsiveness of dye‐functionalized liquid crystal elastomers and the application of temporal illumination patterns enable sequential control of robot components. The

CLUSTERING ANALYSIS FOR GROUPING SUB-DISTRICTS IN BOJONEGORO DISTRICT WITH THE K-MEANS METHOD WITH A VARIETY OF APPROACHES

open access: yesBarekeng
Population data is an important piece of information that is useful for regional planning and development. Insight into the state of an area is more straightforward to observe if there are grouped sub-districts.

Texoskeletons: Developing the Fundamental Technologies for Creating Intelligent Soft Robotic Clothing With Integrated 1D Sensors and Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Traditional wearable exoskeletons rely on rigid structures, which limit comfort, flexibility, and everyday usability. This work introduces the fundamental technologies to create the first soft, lightweight, intelligent textile‐based exoskeletons (Texoskeletons) built using 1D sensors and actuators.
