A scalable, solution‐processed WSe2/ZrO2‐x van der Waals heterostructure realizes a light‐induced field‐tunneling synapse (LIFTS) that activates exclusively under bright illumination, emulating the photopic adaptation of the human retina at the device level.

Network Topology Governs Photocatalytic Water Splitting in Organic Two‐Dimensional Crystals
Network topology in organic two‐dimensional crystals (O2DCs) dictates the photocatalytic water splitting performance. Kagome‐lattice O2DCs exhibit strong electron‐hole mass asymmetry, spatially separated carriers, and longer recombination lifetimes, exceeding rhombic isomers.

A 3D Human Neuron‐on‐Chip Platform to Monitor Neuronal Injury Responses
This study presents a novel 3D Neuron‐on‐Chip model that can maintain human PSC‐derived excitatory prefrontal cortex neurons in 3D hydrogels and can be used to monitor neuronal injury responses over time. Results show injury‐induced acute neuronal excitotoxicity, declining neuronal connectivity, and the activation of a neurodegenerative, SASP‐like ...

This review examines how cellular behavior is regulated by mechanical cues transmitted through soft biomaterials, from single‐cell mechanosensing to tissue‐level adaptation. It highlights why physiological relevance, rather than model complexity alone, is critical for translational mechanobiology and introduces a scoring framework linking material ...

We developed a patient‐derived, functional microfluidic model of the diffuse midline glioma (DMG) blood–brain–tumor barrier (BBTB) comprised of endothelial cells, astrocytes, pericytes, and tumor cells. The system forms perfusable microvasculature, reveals the BBTB retains vascular integrity, identifies DMG‐specific transcriptomic changes distinct from

K-Nearest Neighbor Finding Using MaxNearestDist
IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2008Similarity searching often reduces to finding the k nearest neighbors to a query object. Finding the k nearest neighbors is achieved by applying either a depth- first or a best-first algorithm to the search hierarchy containing the data. These algorithms are generally applicable to any index based on hierarchical clustering.

Weighting of the k-Nearest-Neighbors
2010 20th International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2010This paper presents two distribution independent weighting schemes for k-Nearest-Neighbors (kNN). Applying the first scheme in a Leave-One-Out (LOO) setting corresponds to performing complete b-fold cross validation (b-CCV), while applying the second scheme corresponds to performing bootstrapping in the limit of infinite iterations. We demonstrate that

Hashing based approximate nearest neighbor search embeds high dimensional data to compact binary codes, which enables efficient similarity search and storage. However, the non-isometry sign() function makes it hard to project the nearest neighbors in continuous data space into the closest codewords in discrete Hamming space.
