This paper investigates the accuracy of Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) turbulence modelling applied to complex industrial applications. In the context of the increasing instability of the energy market, hydropower plants are frequently working at

Waves of Uncertainty: Crude Oil Under Geopolitical, Economic, and ESG Turbulence
Dynamic copula and wavelet coherence reveal that geopolitical, economic, and sustainability uncertainties significantly shape crude oil price co‐movements. Long‐term coherence, especially post‐2015, highlights the growing role of ESG risks alongside geopolitical shocks and economic crises in global energy risk transmission.

Inertial-range behaviour of a passive scalar field in a random shear flow
Infrared asymptotic behaviour of a scalar field, passively advected by a random shear flow, is studied by means of the field theoretic renormalization group and the operator product expansion.

The simulation shows that the comprehensive heat transfer effect of using nanofluids as cooling liquid is greater than 1.30 nm SiO2/water and 40 nmAl2O3/water nanofluids have the best heat transfer enhancement effect, while all nanofluids of 30 nm Al2O3/water have the best heat transfer enhancement effect.

A critical evaluation of two-equation models for near wall turbulence [PDF]
A variety of two-equation turbulence models, including several versions of the K-epsilon model as well as the K-omega model, are analyzed critically for near wall turbulent flows from a theoretical and computational standpoint.

Heat transfer in a recirculation zone at steady-state and oscillating conditions - the back facing step test case [PDF]
Steady state and transient heat transfer is a very important aspect of any combustion process. To properly simulate gas to wall heat transfer in a turbulent flow, an accurate prediction of the flow and the thermal boundary layer is required.

This figure shows the variation of the total heat transfer coefficient of a shell and tube heat exchanger with different concentrations of water‐based MgO nanofluids at different inlet flow rates. The results indicate that the total heat transfer coefficient increases with increasing flow velocity, and at different volume fraction settings, the ...

This paper aims to provide a robust design approach for HAWTs operating in shear flow. This study fills a critical research gap by integrating BEM and vortex theories for blade design in non‐homogeneous inflow conditions. The authors of the paper made an effort to develop and test an experimentally unsophisticated model of a turbine working in shear ...

Comparison of turbulent models in the case of a constricted tube
The validation of a proper solution is an indispensable phase of every numerical simulation. Nowadays, many turbulent models are available, whose application leads to slightly different solution of flow behaviour depending on the boundary conditions of a
