Robust Control for Steer-by-Wire Vehicles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The design and analysis of steer-by-wire systems at the actuation and operational level is explored. At the actuation level, robust force feedback control using inverse disturbance observer structure and active observer algorithm is applied to enhance ...

Semantic Modeling in Materials Science and Engineering With Platform MaterialDigital Core Ontology 3.0

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The community‐driven Platform MaterialDigital Core Ontology (PMDco) 3.0 is introduced as a Basic Formal Ontology‐aligned semantic backbone for the processing–structure–properties paradigm in Materials Science and Engineering. Modular engineering, automated releases, and validation workflows are highlighted and key semantic patterns for materials ...

Broken Kirschner Wire Elbow- Removed Successfully by Cannulated Drilling Technique

open access: yesPerspectives In Medical Research
Kirschner wires (K-wires) are widely used in orthopaedic surgery as they are readily available, reliable, and cost-effective. Kirschner wires (K-wires) are used for old unreduced elbow dislocations, inserted through the olecranon and into the humerus, if

Kirschner Wire Breakage during Removal Requiring Retrieval

open access: yesCase Reports in Surgery, 2016
Kirschner wires (K-wires) are widely used for fixation of fractures and dislocations in the hand as they are readily available, reliable, and cost-effective. Complication rates of up to 18% have been reported.

Investigating the Effect of Inclination Angle and the Influence of Scan Parameters on the Appearance and Thermal and Mechanical Properties of Filigree Tension Rods of LPBF‐Manufactured NiTi Shape‐Memory Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article investigates the dependence of the properties on the manufacturing orientation in the form of the inclination angle to the build plate of LPBF‐fabricated NiTi rods with a diameter of 150–220 µm. Metallographic, chemical, thermal, and mechanical characterization show behavior under identical manufacturing conditions that ranges from ...

Why does tension band wiring fail in transverse patellar fractures? Radiographic insights from a 10-years retrospective cohort

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research
Background The aim of this study was to identify the radiographic parameters associated with failure of tension band wiring (TBW) in the treatment of transverse patellar fractures, with the goal of guiding surgical decision-making.

Architecture‐Driven Sensor Stability in Weft‐Knitted Engineering Textiles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Textile‐integrated sensor architectures are systematically compared to evaluate their electromechanical behavior under combined mechanical and environmental loading. Pocket‐based integration exhibits stable and reproducible signals, whereas tunnel‐based routing shows higher sensitivity accompanied by increased variability.

Migration of a Kirschner wire into the spinal canal after acromioclavicular joint repair (case report)

open access: yesГений oртопедии, 2023
Introduction Fixation of the acromioclavicular joint with Kirschner wires (K-wire) has been widely used by orthopeadic and trauma surgeons in the recent past. Now the technique is less common.
