K42 is an open-source scalable research operating system well suited to support systems research. The primary goals of K42's design that support such research include flexibility to allow a multitude of policies and implementations to be supported simultaneously, extensibility to allow new policies and implementations to be readily added, and ...

Operating Systems Review (ACM), 2008
We started the K42 project more than ten years ago with the ambitious goal of developing an operating system for next-generation hardware that would be widely valued and thus widely used. Based on the premise that current operating systems were not designed to be scalable, customizable, or maintainable, we set forth to rectify that by applying proven ...

Use of Radioactive Potassium (K42) in the Study of Benign and Malignant Breast Tumors
New England Journal of Medicine, 1955RADIOACTIVE phosphorus (P32) has been used for the study of human breast tumors by Low-Beer et al.,1 2 3 who first reported in 1946 that ulcerating carcinoma of the breast, counted externally in vivo after administration of radioactive phosphate intravenously, showed a significant increase in radioactivity when compared with the normal breast.

Abstract Wieland-K42 is a copper alloy with a small amount of zinc for strength without removing its good copper physical properties. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and bend strength. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming,

INFLUENCE OF STABLE Cs AND K ON THE REACTIONS OF Cs137 AN K42 IN SOILS AND CLAY MINERALS
Experiments were conducted to study the influence of stable Cs and K on the reactions of tracer quantities of Cs/sup 137/ and K/sup 42/ in soils and clay minerals, using an equilibrium batch method. Tracer quantities of both Cs/sup 137/ and K/sup 42/ were strongly sorbed in soils and clay minerals. Cesium was more strongly sorbed than K.

In an experiment with soil columns, the leaching of rubidium and that of potassium were compared by adding equivalent amounts of KCl and RbCl to the top of the columns, followed by leaching with water corresponding to about a 110-mm rainfall. The distribution of rubidium and that of potassium were determined by tracer methods with the isotopes Rb/sup ...
