Predictability of ab‐interno trabeculectomy success in the subsequent eye: A contralateral eye comparison study

open access: yesClinical &Experimental Ophthalmology, Volume 49, Issue 3, Page 242-250, April 2021., 2021
Abstract Background To determine whether the outcome of the first eye may serve as a predictor for intraocular pressure (IOP)‐lowering effectiveness in the second eye following bilateral ab interno trabeculectomy. Methods This retrospective single‐centre study included 168 eyes from 84 participants, who underwent combined Trabectome surgery with ...

Failure of XEN Gel Stent Implantation as a Stand‐Alone Procedure in Congenital Glaucoma: Case Report of Secondary Congenital Glaucoma in Neurofibromatosis Type 1

open access: yesCase Reports in Ophthalmological Medicine, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
A XEN gel stent implant procedure was performed in a one‐year‐old child with severe unilateral congenital glaucoma. At the age of 6 weeks, an uncomplicated 360° trabeculotomy had been performed, which resulted in intraocular pressure (IOP) control for only 4 months. The gel stent implantation was performed ab interno without complications.

An Alternate Technique for Goniotomy: Description of Procedure and Preliminary Results [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Purpose: Multiple glaucoma treatment modalities seek to lower IOP by bypassing or removing a portion of the juxtacanalicular trabecular meshwork. These procedures often require expensive implants or specialized surgical instruments. The authors developed

Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty and Outcomes of Subsequent Phacoemulsification Combined with Kahook Dual Blade Goniotomy. [PDF]

open access: yesOphthalmol Ther, 2022
To investigate the relationship between intraocular pressure (IOP)-lowering success of selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) and combined phacoemulsification/Kahook Dual Blade (phaco/KDB) goniotomy in eyes with mild to severe open angle glaucoma (OAG).Eyes undergoing combined phaco/KDB goniotomy and that had previously undergone SLT were analyzed. Data

Gonioscopy-assisted transluminal trabeculotomy versus goniotomy with Kahook dual blade in patients with uncontrolled juvenile open-angle glaucoma: a retrospective study

open access: yesBMC Ophthalmology, 2021
Background To compare the efficacy and safety of gonioscopy-assisted transluminal trabeculotomy (GATT) and Kahook Dual Blade (KDB) excisional goniotomy in patients with uncontrolled juvenile open-angle glaucoma (JOAG).
