General theory of the Kaiser effect
International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences & Geomechanics Abstracts, 1993Abstract A theory for the generalized Kaiser effect is discussed. Using the concept of a damage surface, the one-dimensional Kaiser effect is extended to a general stress state. Comparisons between the theory and experimental data show agreement in the predicted and observed properties of the Kaiser effect.

Kaiser Effect in Rocks Undergone Polyaxial Loading
Journal of Mining Science, 2002The basic regularities are considered for manifesting the Kaiser effect in various regimes of polyaxial loading, which is of great importance for developing the methods of stress measurement in rocks. The correspondence between the results of experimental and theoretical investigations is shown.

Relation between Kaiser effect levels and pre-stresses applied in the laboratory
This study aims to investigate the relation between the Kaiser effect ( KE) levels and pre-stresses applied to rock samples in laboratory. For the purpose, a number of test specimens were obtained from different types of rock and a mortar block ...

The Kaiser Effect under Multiaxial Nonproportional Compression of Sandstone
Doklady Physics, 2020The regularities of deformation and fracture of sandstone under nonproportional biaxial and triaxial cyclic compression accompanied by the rotation of the Lame ellipsoid and in situ continuous detection of acoustic emission are investigated experimentally on the “Triaxial Independent Loading Test System” at the Ishlinskii Institute for Problems in ...

Effective Psychotherapy: The Contribution of Hellmuth Kaiser.
Archives of General Psychiatry, 1966This is an interesting and thought-provoking book. It consists of the only three papers on psychotherapy written in English by Hellmuth Kaiser, a lay analyst with a PhD in mathematics and philosophy from Munich. The two shorter papers have been published previously in Psychiatry , but the longer paper, his major contribution, has never before been ...

Observation of Post-failure Kaiser Effect in a Plastic Rock
Pure and Applied Geophysics, 2002— Cyclic uniaxial and triaxial tests of rock salt samples were carried out in pre- and post-failure regimes. In all tests, a distinct Kaiser effect was observed in the post-failure region. The slope of the curve “cumulative AE counts versus axial strain” increased dramatically (several times to an order) when the strain attained its peak value achieved

The Effect of Retirement on Health Services Utilization: the Kaiser Permanente Retirement Study
Journal of Gerontology, 1991The relationship of retirement and use of medical services was investigated among members of the Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program in Northern California. A mailed survey of a 10 percent random sample of members 60-66 years old (N = 10,202) was followed by a telephone interview of (a) all respondents who had planned to retire in the next year, and

L51492 Evaluation of the Kaiser Effect in Pipe Steels
1985Acoustic emission (AE) proof testing is a particularly attractive method of nondestructively examining large structures such as pressure vessels and pipelines because a total volumetric examination can be made with AE sensors mounted at relatively large intervals over the surface of-the structures.
