Optimizing Computed Tomography (CT) for Structurally Complex Organisms: A Case Study of Gastropod Shell Features. [PDF]

We developed and tested a computed tomography (CT) protocol to estimate shell volume as a method instead of using water and sand. We compared the estimates obtained using this protocol (OCT, optimized CT) with traditional methods (water and sand) and with a CT previous setting (NOCT, nonoptimized CT).
