Literature review of JIT-KANBAN system

The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2006
In this paper, JIT (Just-In-Time)-KANBAN literature survey was carried out and presented. The introductory section deals with the philosophy of JIT, and the concept involved in the push and pull system. The blocking mechanisms in the kanban system are also discussed elaborately. Besides these sections, the importance of measure of performance (MOP) and

Flexible kanban system

International Journal of Operations & Production Management, 1999
Just‐in‐time (JIT) systems were originally designed for deterministic production environments such as constant processing times and smooth and stable demand. However, once implemented, JIT is fraught with numerous types of uncertainties, including variations in processing time and demand, planned interruptions such as preventive maintenance and ...

Multiproduct Kanban-like Control Systems

International Journal of Production Research, 2002
Kanban Control Systems are widely used to control the release of parts in multistage manufacturing systems operating under a pull mechanism, i.e. production of new parts is triggered based on the actual demands arriving to the output of the system. Most of the work on Kanban Control Systems deals with single-product manufacturing systems, although ...

Lagerbestandsüberwachung: Kanban-Systeme

2016

Digitalization of the Kanban System

2019 Portland International Conference on Management of Engineering and Technology (PICMET), 2019
Technologies of the fourth industrial revolution are closing the gap between physical and virtual world in manufacturing process and it will have a huge effects on whole supply-chain. The changing paradigm of manufacturing value chain affects tier 1 and 2 suppliers in Turkey as also affects every country and industry.

Towards an adaptive Kanban system

International Journal of Production Research, 1990
SUMMARY This paper presents a control methodology for flow shops that is decentralized and adaptive in nature, and has low data handling and computational requirements. The methodology is based on stochastic automata methods for modelling learning behaviour.

Comparing reactive Kanban systems

International Journal of Production Research, 2003
In an effort to achieve agile control in a just-in-time (JIT) environment, reactive JIT ordering systems have been proposed for multistage production systems with unstable changes in demand. In reactive JIT ordering systems, the time series data for the demand are monitored, and unstable changes in demand are detected using statistical control charts ...

Approximation for Kanban production systems

International Journal of Systems Science, 1996
Abstract We apply an approximation method, named the cross-aggregation method, to the Kanban model introduced by Mitra and Mitrani for production lines controlled with Kanbans. In their papers, they approximately analysed the model by a variant of the decomposition method, but they selected the equations in a heuristic way.

Generic kanban systems for dynamic environments

International Journal of Production Research, 1994
Abstract Kanbans have shown successful results in lowering inventory and shortening lead time in repetitive production systems. Unfortunately, such systems are not applicable to production environments with dynamic characteristics. Here a modified kanban system, the generic kanban system, is proposed for such dynamic environments.
