Partial b_{v}(s) and b_{v}({\theta}) metric spaces and related fixed point theorems

open access: yes, 2018
In this paper, we introduced two new generalized metric spaces called partial b_{v}(s) and b_{v}({\theta}) metric spaces which extend b_{v}(s) metric space, b-metric space, rectangular metric space, v-generalized metric space, partial metric space ...

Fixed Point Results for Interpolative Kannan Type and Ćirić‐Reich‐Rus Type Cyclic Contractions in Dislocated Quasi‐Rectangular b‐Metric Spaces

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This article aims to present a new fixed point (FP) result for interpolative Kannan type and Ćirić‐Reich‐Rus type cyclic contractions (CRRTCCs) in dislocated quasi‐rectangular b‐metric spaces. We go through rigorous steps to prove the existence of a unique FP for the stated mapping in the setting of dislocated quasi‐rectangular b‐metric spaces.

Some Iterations of Best Proximity Point

open access: yesWasit Journal for Pure Sciences
The aim of this paper is to investigate the convergence of two types of iterative methods , that is Manna and Ishikawa  to the optimal proximity points for cyclic Kannan and Chatterjee mappings defined on Banach spaces .

Results for cyclic contractive mappings of Kannan and Chatterjea type equipped with Mann’s iterative scheme

open access: yesPartial Differential Equations in Applied Mathematics
Recently, Khaleel et al. presented the innovative cyclic contractions of the Chatterjea and Kannan type and derived certain results with the help of Picard’s iterative scheme in the context of G-metric spaces. Motivated by these new contractions, certain fixed point results are obtained in Gb-metric spaces using Mann’s iterative scheme.

The weakest condition for a Kannan-type contraction mapping on a complete metric space

open access: yes
In this paper, we investigate the weakest possible conditions for fixed point theorems concerning two types of mappings: Kannan and Chatterjea. We employ the so-called CJM condition, which has been successfully applied to the classical Banach-type mappings by Ćirić [5]. We show that the CJM condition is nearly the weakest possible to have a fixed point

The Kannan Contraction Mapping Theorem for Composition Operators in Metric Spaces and Partially Ordered Metric Spaces

open access: yesEarthline Journal of Mathematical Sciences, 2019
In this paper, fixed point theorems of the Kannan type are obtained in the setting of metric space and metric space endowed with partial order, respectively, for self-mappings that are composition operators.

Some similarity between contractions and Kannan mappings

open access: yesSome similarity between contractions and Kannan mappings
Contractions are always continuous and Kannan mappings are not necessarily continuous. This is a very big difference between both mappings. However, we know that relaxed both mappings are quite similar. In this paper, we discuss both mappings from a new point of view. Copyright (c) 2008 M. Kikkawa and T. Suzuki.
