Anticoagulation Strategies in Adults Undergoing Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesArtificial Organs, EarlyView.
In this meta‐analysis of 2 775 adult ECMO patients from non‐randomized studies, direct thrombin inhibitors and low‐molecular‐weight heparins demonstrated a favorable efficacy and safety profile over unfractionated heparin. These findings suggest them to be effective alternatives to unfractionated heparin, underscoring the urgent need for randomized ...

The Material Basis of 18th‐Century Meissen Porcelain

open access: yesArchaeometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In the summer of 1708, the quest for making hard‐paste porcelain from Saxonian clay and other mineral resources succeeded. This was achieved by applying as its essential ingredient newly discovered pure kaolin from Heidelsberg near Aue, western Saxon Ore Mountains.

PERAN KAOLIN SEBAGAI BAHAN PEMBAWA TERHADAP PERSISTENSI INFEKTIFITAS Spodoptera litura NUCLEO POLIHEDRAL VIRUS (SlNPV) DALAM MENGENDALIKAN Spodoptera litura F. (Lepidoptera: Noctunidae)

open access: yesJurnal HPT (Hama Penyakit Tumbuhan), 2014

Kaolin dust concentrations and pneumoconiosis at a kaolin mine. [PDF]

open access: yesThorax, 1984
Kaolin is removed from underground seams in the mining area to a processing area, where it is sliced, dried, and pulverised to make the finished product. A study was undertaken to determine the dust concentrations in various work areas and to assess the prevalence of radiographic and pulmonary function abnormalities in 65 workers at a Georgia kaolin ...

Post‐Occlusion Application of Skin Protective Creams Does Not Affect Occlusion‐Induced Barrier Changes: A Randomized Controlled Experimental Study

open access: yesContact Dermatitis, EarlyView.
Post‐occlusion application of protective creams did not consistently reduce occlusion‐induced skin barrier impairment after glove use. Protective efficacy probably depends on formulation and timing, with only immediate pre‐irritant application showing a significant reduction in SLS‐induced barrier disruption.

Accuracy of Factor VIII Assays for Measuring Damoctocog Alfa Pegol: A Comparative Analysis

open access: yesHaemophilia, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Accurate monitoring of treatment with modified factor VIII products remains challenging, due to known variability in assay performance across different laboratory methods and reagents. For the extended half‐life product Damoctocog alfa pegol discrepancies have been reported.

Preparation of cationic surfactant-modified kaolin for enhanced adsorption of hexavalent chromium from aqueous solution

open access: yesApplied Water Science, 2019
In the current work, we have reported a cationic surfactant-modified Ethiopian kaolin for improved adsorption of Cr(VI) from aqueous solution. The raw kaolin was modified by treating with CTAB to enhance the adsorption properties.
